Meaning, it was up to the defense to keep the play in front of them, and they didn't. Absolutely horrid pursuit and a horrible plan all around on D.

Martellus Bennett stiff arms Byron Maxwell to the ground

LeGarrette Blount hurdles Byron Maxwell, and keeps running.

Two things...first, if Maxwell has any testicles at all then he needs to man up. No more getting trucked like a bitch. Second, the OLB and DE got straight mauled on the play where Maxwell got jumped over and, to no one's surprise, the Patriots were not called for holding.

Very good thread. This was one of the most disappointing aspects of the game. Heading into halftime the two obvious conclusions were that Tannehill would play aggressively and effectively in the second half, and that New England would be very careful with Brissett. They weren't going to challenge with standard darts over the middle. In my household we talked about it, that New England with the young athletic quarterback would use safe passes out of bootleg and throwback looks. I have no idea why the Dolphins weren't prepared. In college football you see it all the time when a young quarterback of that style is forced to enter the game.

I bet Miami at halftime. I was annoyed to say the least when those safe plays somehow worked and we dropped behind 31-3. It worked out anyway for my wager but the hope of a straight up win took a huge hit. The Dolphins couldn't afford to allow New England to reach higher than 27. Three touchdowns in one half is considerably more gettable than four.

It's hilarious to me that Miami has shown no ability to run a screen on offense, and no ability to stop it on defense.

New England put on tape exactly how to stop Miami. Quick passes to negate the pass rush. Outside runs because Miami cannot contain the run. And uhhh...stiff arm and hurdle galore.

Our RB screens have been good, IMO. Our WR screens have been terrible.

See my sig.

We ran a screen on the drive that scored a TD against the Seahawks. Williams took it 29 yards down to the 1 or 2 yard line in that game.

Anyone forgetting how 3 defensive players went for the same fake screen..... Lol
