Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the Jacksonville Jaguars recently called backup quarterback David Garrard into the team's offices to explain that any interest that they might be showing in Dolphins quarterback Daunte Culpepper is not a reflection on Garrard's abilities.

If the reports are true that we almost had Daunte traded to the Jags and he refused to restructure, Duante is a real prick. It alsoe seems Daunte is already causing trouble for another team.

How is he causing problems for another team lol? Like it's his fault the Jags have an interest him, should he issue Gerrard an apology?

Do you think that DC has any trade value? And if so, do you think he would stop being stubborn and allow a trade?

That situation is just bad for both parties involved. Sucks that you guys lost out on the 2nd round pick that you gave up for him.

Naw bro, i think he's out to do things his way because of how sour things have become for him in Miami. He's his own agent so if he dosen't want to play for a team there's no one to convince him otherwise. He does have trade value but not as much as a year ago. a 4th or 5th round pick could do it. I have a question for you, what's up with Kellen Clemmons? Is he a legit threat to win the starting spot this year?

Kellen isnt NFl starter quality, Chad will win the spot again, unfortunately, i wish we could see what Kellen has to offer. I am by no means a Chad fan, we need a more mobile QB with a decent arm.

:chuckle: Maybe he'll teach Garrard how to throw.

Garrard is a decent guy, he and i used to work at Best Buy back in the day in Durham NC, when he was out of ECU for awhile. Great guy to be around, i hope things work out for him.

Jags looking more and more like a serious contender...I hope something accelerates based on our threat to hold Daunte on the roster until August.

I was at the Dolphins/Jets game in Miami this year and i saw him play. He's not a bad QB and he throws a pretty good ball from what i can see. He makes up for lack of arm stregnth by being accurate and making smart throws. He's got skills.

Mangini wanted the guy with more experience

Obviously when the Jags called Garrard into their office to tell him not to worry it is because he is looking like the odd man out. Once Daunte lands in Jacksonville he is gonna want to start and a QB contraversy will start. I feel bad for Jags fan and the organization. They will end up like what happened to us , and they will get exactly what they wished for.

The Jags will definately hold out until late July when he's released, sign Culpepper to a backloaded deal and will let him compete for a job next year.
