Jake Grove #1

Not sure how those ratings are done but notice the dropoff from the rest, including Mangold. Thats weird. not sure I can trust those ratings but hey, Grove definitely makes things happen.

Wow, how many times are people going to post the stats from that site? I've seen at least five different post about these rankings. Anyways, Grove has been solid. If he wants to stay #1 he needs to be able to contain Jenkins.

yeah look at tackle. Long is way down the list where Carey is way above Long. Doesnt tell the whole story. It just documents successes and failures.

Did Joe Thomas go up vs. the best DE's in the league? I know Long has.

I have no clue how those rankings are done, obviously Ronnie alone has been better than Ricky not to mention many other backs... mabybe they are done on effeciency? YPC, touchdowns per carry, receptions per drop? idk

But then they've got Vernon Carey rated quite a bit higher than Jake Long and both Justin Smiley and Donald Thomas rated very low.

I can't remember Carey getting blown away as many times as Long. Don't know what the story is for Smiley though.

Wow, for 3-4 Defensive Ends, Randy Starks and Kendall Langford are #2 and #3. Merling is #6.

Cameron Wake is #4 3-4 OLB

Even though Wake only comes in the game in nickel and dime packages where he plays as an end, not an OLB....

Hell, I've posted stats from ESPN and NFL hundreds of times. Including the old Herald, thousands.

I like the site, and the attention to detail.

Are not successes and failures the whole story?

I am not even sure how to read that site but Grove has been everything I could ever ask for in a center. In the San Diego game, on one run play, I swear he bulled his man out of bounds. He has been absolutely dominant. I have been very impressed with our entire offensive line come to think of it.

yeah so with our 185 yds per game avg. Jake Long is not having much success? cmon now. Lets just see it for what it is. Just becuase Long gave up some sacks to great DE's doesnt mean he is that bad.

you can agree on that can't you?

I'd question whether he's a legitimate number 1, especially considering some of the other rankings, but either way, so far it's sure a nice change having a top 5 center! Hopefully the Fins rigorous training regimen will keep him afloat.
