experience. He doesn't seem to lock on to his guy like some of the other left tackles in the NFL. I was watching some of the other left tackles this weekend and they were locked on to there man and holding like a son of a gun. Seems like some of the more experienced left tackles know their allowance of holding or cheating. Also, the other left tackles were moving their feet a little more. I hope this taught Jake a lesson or at very least, his coaches. I think he will get better and close up the gap between himself and his opponent.

Personally I think he needs his gut back.

I think he will correct his mistakes and be much better this coming week. The guy has the tools to do it, and i am sure he will make sure he gets it done.
He has a new line coach and it makes me wonder if they tinkered with his mechanics a little in the offseason.

We have to remember that Jake made the ProBowl last year as a rookie.

He had one bad game. Don't be hard on him.

The great J.Thomas had a sophmore slump and has bounced back to completely shutting down J.Allen in their first game. J.Long will be fine.

He really hasn't faced a DE the caliber of Abraham (other than maybe Mario Williams who he dominated). Perhaps his great season last year was somewhat smoke and mirrors for a rookie, so now we'll really see how much of a quality pass blocker he is. He's definitely going to have his hands full this season with guys like Freeney and Julius Peppers on the schedule.

Either that or he blows. I hope he is just lacking experience.

Yoooo I rarely like armandos post but he made an interesting point from this iPhone app. Armando said last yeAr the only real pass rusher long really faced was Mario williams in the reg season. This year he will be facing Shawne Merriman, Kyle Vanden Bosch, Jevon Kearse, Julius Peppers, Mario Williams again, James Harrison, Aaron Schobel twice, Will Smith and Charles Grant. And all those men have had double-digit sacks seasons in the NFL.

I hope long himself knows he has to be better. He has to switch his style up and get better at the things he's lacking in. Like blocking fast pass rushers

I agree.. many problowlers and HOFers have bad games. I expect him to be better this week.

He's got one tough season ahead of him. But that's why we drafted him where we did. He holds.. good things can happen.

all you have to do is watch the pro bowl and pre season to see jake is lacking !

My biggest knock on Jake when we drafted him was his foot speed to be able to get out against speed rushers. I never ever thought I would see him get run flat over like he was on Sunday. I think the fact that he did still goes back to his footwork or lack thereof. He just doesn't move well.

Makes me nervous this week having to go against Freeney. If he gets in big Jake's head like Abraham did it could be a tough night.

I'm sure they are doing everything they can to help with his footwork but for a big guy it could be a while before we see progress.
