remember robert gallery was a sure thing when he came out. no one could see him becoming what he is today. just like noone can see jake failing. it may happen but you wont get any body to say it. its a crap shot.

I am so tried of this topic.... why are you people always look at the OL to be a bust and not the DE/OLB

Do you remember courtney Brown and andre wadsworth among others... they both were a can't miss prospects and both are out of the league now ( if I am not mistaken ) and both were drafted in the top 3.

Long is stronger, has longer arms, and plays with an intensity that can't be teached. Gallery wasn't as impressive in college as Long either and built up a lot of his stock because of his combine. People complain that Long may only be a RT but prior to Gallery's combine, experts were saying he may be better suited for guard because of his short arms. Only time will really tell, but in my mind, the differences between the two or night and day.

I think that Long has the potential to be a good player. He could be a Robert Gallery, but who really knows at this point. That's why we're not GM's. I would rather that we select one of the DE/OLB guys. (I prefer Gholston). This is because I feel that we could a great LT at #32 (Gosder Cherilus). I feel that we could get more value out of our draft this way. Just remember that Indy got their starting LT in the 2nd round last year.

I don't think there will be another Tony Ugoh in the 2nd this year. Not if the top 5 LT prospects go in round 1, like projected. Cherilus is better suited for RT where he could potentially start right away. I don't see him being anything more than mediocre at LT, especially if he's forced to start week one, and he'd have to if he was the Dolphins pick.

I don't think Jake Long will be a bust but I don't think he is worth the 1st overall because he is what he is, a lineman, and odds are in the NFL he will be average.
