Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald "doesn't see" the Dolphins making a move for free agent Plaxico Burress.

As Salguero notes, the Dolphins just traded Brandon Marshall and cut Chad Ochocinco. They probably don't want to deal with another headcase receiver, this one with clearly declining skills. Attempting to trade for James Jones, who knows Joe Philbin's scheme, might be the Dolphins' best bet at this point. Although Jones may not be on the trade block at the moment with Greg Jennings recovering slower-than-anticipated from his early-August concussion.

An intriguing possibility indeed.... :ponder:

Would be a nice pickup, but I doubt it happens with the Jennings concussion concerns.

I think he's worth more to the Packers than a late round pick, but he's one of the few worth trading for if we can do it for a 3rd day pick. I don't think it happens though.

or how much does joe really like this kid? if joe feels he is worth more then a 3 day pick...he might try to convince the brass...Im sure WR will be addressed after this next game

dont see it happening, and with the new coach everybody just automatically assumes we are after green bay players.

I'd really love a move for a good WR. I don't think our WR corps is as bad as some (actually think the WRs/TEs/RBs will be quite good in this offense), but I do think it's missing a solid receiver that is capable of a 800yd/4TD type of season, which I think Chad could have done.

Maybe that's James Jones...probably makes the most sense given his familiarity with the offense. Maybe Wallace is capable of stepping up...sure would be nice.

A trade for Mike Wallace would be interesting, but the fact we're not going for it suggests we (Ireland/Philbin) don't believe we're making any noise this season.

He would instantly double the career TD total of our receiving corp.

Rotoworld has been linking us to James Jones forever, doubt it happens.

James Jones is average. Ive watched a lot of him as I live in WI. He drops wayyyy too many key passes for TDs.

he caant catch the footbal for nothing, having jones on our tem would be a serious downgrade

and besides i know hes familiar wiit philben playbook but 80-85% of our playbook is mike martz probably only 10-15 is joe philben t

Just another shot in the dark by Armando in an attempt to be able to say "My sources and I told you so" in the 1% chance it plays out.

James Jones would be a great pickup for this team. He does have some drop issues, but the man knows the system and can be a big time playmaker. I doubt anything like this happens, but it would be nice to see them make some sort of move for a wr.
