I am not a local fan so I haven't seen too much of these guys play. Is Minkah the clear cut better choice if both were available when we pick? Sounds like as a pure FS he is the better player...is there anything Derwin is better at?

Derwin's game against Syracuse puts him in top 3 players in this draft.

I don't particularly like either but I'd say James

I assume you think the will play him at Will with RM staying in the middle? My only concern besides his size is where he will fit. I can't see taking a LB that high if he won't be on the field all 3 downs.
He's a Will yes, either him or Vander

Minka is the top FS and Top CB in the draft

James is the Top SS and 2nd best free safety

In the end, you can't go wrong with either.

If either one of them makes it to #11, that would be just about the best case scenario for Miami. If Edmunds and James are there, that would be really tough.

As long as 4 QBs go before us, at least one of the four will absolutely be there for us:

Minkah
Derwin
Edmunds
Roquan

Assuming Saquon, Chubb and Nelson are all gone also, of course.

Any of those three being there would require another Laremy Tunsil draft moment.

Minkah can play man-on-man coverage, but is also a spectacular deep player with the desired range at FS.

Derwin is a guy who can play just about anywhere on the field, kind of like how Pittsburgh used Troy Polomalu. He can blitz, he can tackle, he can cover, he can be physical.

I really like Derwin.
