1. Reggie Ragland ILB Alabama --- Physical, run stopper whose good enough in coverage to be three down 'backer. A leader.
2. Eli Apple CB Ohio State --- Bigger corner Miami needs opposite Grimes.
3. Deon Bush FS Miami --- Would love to have Jones and Bush at safety.
4. Brandon Shell OT South Carolina -- Physical run blocker with NFL bloodlines (nephew of Art Shell)
5. Eric Striker OLB Oklahoma --- Very small, but can be a situational pass rusher.
6. Mike Matthews C Texas A&M -- Undersized, but a player (terrific NFL bloodlines).
7. Devon Johnson RB Marshall --- Big runner at 6-1, 243
7. Keven Seymour CB USC -- A decent sized corner to compete.

I'd be happy if the first 6 rounds go that way. Didn't see Johnson play, didn't hear Seymour's name called in the game and a half of SC football that I watched, but it's the 7th.

When I watch Ragland's game against Tennessee, I have a hard time justifying drafting him anywhere in the 1st - let alone the top-10.

Rounds 2-6 are about as good as you could possibly hope for. Apple has enormous upside IMO, Bush is very solid, Shell is very underrated, I think that Striker will be a helluva pass rusher, and I just expect Matthews to be a solid starter at some point because he's a Matthews and that's what they do.

Ragland is not my top choice with the #1, but the organization could do a lot worse. I didn't see him against Tennessee, pretty ugly?

Not ugly as much as it shows his limitations. He doesn't look like a 1st-RD athlete.

I should say that I'd love Striker in the 5th, and I'd consider him as early as the 3rd.

He's interesting. I've seen Striker mocked all over the place. He has limitations due to size, but I think he could be an excellent situational pass rusher. A team like Seattle could take him earlier than expected.

I like this draft - BUT - If Myles Jack and Ragland are both on the board when we pick who do you go with... Pre Combine and medicals I would take Myles Jack every time...

I love Jack and I know he can play middle linebacker and running back. I just think he's best at weak side linebacker. That said, he's probably more valuable in today's NFL than Ragland with his ability in coverage. I've seen him pretty consistently mocked to Dallas, which seems a tad high considering his injury.

Didn't he play with a bruised quad?

I like that. I think Hargreaves is probably the guy, unless Miami loses Wake or Vernon. If that happens, I believe the Dolphins will take a defensive end in round 1.

Do you think Scooby Wright makes it to round 3?

Of course I don't really know but if he does I hope we grab him.

Nice, I'd sign off on this right now. Not to get greedy but I wonder if you could slide down, get an extra 2nd or 3rd and still get Ragland. I wouldn't want to lose him as I think he starts from Day 1 and has several Pro Bowls in his future. Saw somebody (maybe daniel Jeremiah?) had Apple in his top 10 overall but I think that's overly optimistic unless he runs a 4.3
