Being a Dolfin fan from the Bay Area I got to watch Jared Goff weekly for the last 3ryrs and there is no doubt he is a Franchise QB!
He has great pocket presence, he goes thru all his progressions and his deep ball touch is ridiculous! Something we haven't seen in Miami in a long time.

He played at Cal and he reminds so many of us here of Aaron Rodgers.

If he's there at the 5th or 6th pick take him and we'll have our Franchis QB for years to come.

The questions I've heard on Goff are mostly about his arm strength, having watched him probably more than the average person here, what would your opinion of his arm strength be.

The same player who got rattled by the Utah D earlier this yr?

Goff will be a real Good NFL QB but it depends on the team & scheme... NOLA w/ Payton would be ideal.

No way he's there at 5 or 6. If he is, I would say we draft him for sure

I know little about the QB draft class. Which of these guys are projected to be top 5-10 picks?

Also, remember how we got Marino. For those saying we'd be crazy to draft a QB in round 1 because we have T-Hill under a big contract etc - we had just been to the SB and had a very athletic and talented QB (sound familiar?) in David Woodley. Like him or not we had gone 11-4-1 and 7-2 (SB appearance) the two seasons he started for us (both 1st place in AFC East). Had Finheaven been around then I don't believe many here would have been calling for us to draft a QB - even if the cast consisted of Marino, Elway, Kelly, Eason, Blackledge and O'Brien. Shula - for all his bad drafts in the 80's and 90's - wasn't that stupid. Marino falls in our laps and QB was not a position of need (we had Woodley and Don Strock - and as a combo package they won a lot of games for us) and we drafted him anyway. He instantly (when he got his first start in week 5) transformed us into an explosive scoring offense - overnight from ground and pound. The speed at which this change took place was unprecedented. That's what a transformational player does. If any of these QBs are "transformational" in terms of potential you have to draft them. If they are not then I am content addressing other needs.

The kid needs some creatine because he looks frail. Imagine him behind Dallas Thomas this year?

Goff is s scheme QB. Weak arm. This years draft is a weak one for QB talent.
Our needs are CB, LB, and Oline.
Talking about a QB with RT signed, and no chance of making changes on a guy that would be a late 1st rounder in QB strong years is a wasted pick.

Bad year to need a QB.
He would not last as long as Pat White behind this oline. Goff is a 5 year project IMHO.
The comparison to Rodgers might be that he would not get playing time until his 4th year.
If he was available in the 4th round, I would consider taking him there.

That's a good point, I've been against draftin a QB high this year just because of all the other needs (and Tannehill's contract which firmly plants him as the starter) but Tannehill indeed does need some competition.
If the right QB is there, perhaps it would be a good move. Light a fire under Tanne too to clean up some parts of his game. If he flunks next year, then youve got another option.

I don't understand any Phins fan that wants to draft a qb high with screaming needs at CB LB and OL. Amazing how Aaron Rogers play has dipped once that OL went downhill and Russell Wilson's play has been on an upturn once that Seattle OL pulled their pants up a bit. Do I think Tannehill is a great qb? No but I think he's good enough to win with. If Ryan Fitzpatrick can have an NFL team at 10-5......

only if the draft is rich in QB talent. Sounds like it's not - I don't follow college ball. If this is the case then I pass on a top QB and perhaps draft someone late - but I don't make it a priority.
