It has been 4 years, and this kid can't still crack the starting lineup, he is a bust?

That thought runs thru many of Dolphans when u look at our draft history. But this kid Jason has been a positive light on this team if u ask me. I mean he probably has been our best special teams player when Cobbs went down. Everytime we have asked him to step in for an injured player, he has locked them down.

He wen't on Moss earlier this year, had an endzone breakup. He shut down Welker in the 2nd half of that 2nd Patriots game. He came in today and had a big pass breakup in the endzone and really showed some solid cover skills when Vontae went down. I mean I don't know what more we can ask of the kid. He has had ONE BAD GAME, and that was last year against the Pats vs. Randy Moss . . . and he made plays in that game, but Moss touched him up twice, and they were nice plays.

He stepped in to an injury packed team in 2007 and I believe he led the team in INT's or right there with the leaders . . . . and honestly, he just looks like a fresh body on the field EVERY time I see him play. He is one of the fastest guys on the team.

Really, I would love to see this kid back next year. I don't know how his contract works, I know he has 2 years left . . . and if he is making big money that is hard to give for a STer and backup CB . . . . but all that aside, the kid was a positive player for this team.

And forget trying to put him at FS, keep him at CB, the kid has found his niche.

He could start on some teams in this leauge IMO

idk about that...dont get me wrong im happy with his most recent contributions to this team. We know he hasnt contributed much since hes been here but at least he plays well on STs and is finally starting to make some plays when called upon to come in at nickel back or whatever.

On ST he is fine but he is a liability in any coverage

Hell he has made plays in the endzone atleast 2 or 3 times this season, and hasn't had many catches on him this year at all.

Maybe earlier in his career he was . . . . but right now, he seems to be a solid CB. I don't see where he was a liability in coverage. Yea Heath Miller beat him on the TD, not only did he slip, Ben had like 7 or 8 seconds to find Heath. That just isn't fair to blame Allen for that. Other than that, he had a real great game and a solid season.

When u have the #1 and #2 CB's in the league with yards against per reception . . . u make it seems like our other CB's haven't had their issues in coverage.

He continues to slowly get better. He is the most physically gifted player on this team. I'd like to see him try to return punts. He has good hands as well. I wish they would have just left him at FS from the get go.

No doubt that he's one of our best Special Team players but I don't see how one can be satisfied with that giving we used a first round pick on him. With that being said, I would like to see him on the team next season because I think he's improving on defense.

You read my mind!!! i was about to make a thread about Allen ... i absolutely agree his contributions on special teams and in a pinch for injured players has been stellar... unfortunately his contract is up... if he want to come back to Miami, he's most likely going to have to accept much less $$$$ ... he just isn't a starting caliber CB, but an exceptional Special Teams player and reserve CB .... i say bring him back!!! i love what he's done to improve himself!!! he has a role and he's still young!!!

I'm a fan of the Dolphins that has always thought that Jason Allen simply HAS SKILLS. He is F A S T. Did you see him close on the "speedy" Willie Parker after he broke away and was heading to the endzone? Jason Allen closed on him in the blink of an eye. I think Jason Allen is undeveloped talent. He isn't utilized enough. I would like to see Miami get him more involved next season in the secondary for sure. Put him behind Vontae at CB, and put Sean Smith behind Will Allen in 2010.

I was impressed with what I saw from him today.....

Maybe this means if we wait around for 4 years with Teddy Ginn the penny might drop with him too!....lol

did you not see him give up a TD to Heath Miller?

Of course not. And if they did, it wasnt Allen's fault. He slipped. :rolleyes2:

It never ****ing ends with this ****ing guy. Jason Allen completely blows. He is a good special teams player.........end of story.

Given where he was drafted, the fact that all he is is a good special teams player makes him a bust.

The guy gets torched everytime he gets in the game, but somehow whenever he does there is a thread on here about how great he played.

If the guy breaks up one ****ing pass or makes a tackle or two, its brought up around here like he was great.

I remember that game vs. the Pats last year where he got toasted the whole game and posters on here pretended that having the back of his jersey on the TV meant he played well. Unreal.

He contributed nothing today. He got beat by a TE for a huge TD in the 2nd half.

There is a reason the guy cant crack the starting lineup ahead of two rookies and Nate Jones.

Someone said he could start for other teams.......:sidelol:. Dude, if you cant start at corner for the 09 phins, you cant start for Vanderbilt, much less an NFL squad. Get ****ing real.

Jason Allen blows. But, will forever remain a FH hero.
