ok with the loss of poole do you see allen moving to corner because we have good depth at safety with hill, bell,tillman and cooper. what do you think corner or safety or both?

the reason we got him was to be a saftey. With the fact that he also just signed there is no time for him to get ready to be a cb this season. Maybe next year. Im fine with allen and goodman for now . Hopefully Daniels will be back by week 1. Im nota huge fan of daniels but maybe this year he can turn it around.

I think Saban wants him at Safety. He wants a safety that can cover like a corner and tackle well. He'll only go to corner if more guys get injured. So far Will Allen and Daniels will be the starters and I am fine with that.
I'm just still shocked about Poole.

Saban spoke about this particular question in his post-practice press conference:
(On the decision to use Jason Allen as a safety instead of a cornerback) – “We never ever had any intentions of playing him at corner. We never drafted him as a corner. He’s never been a corner. I think the approach is more we feel the guy’s skill set is really good at safety, but we also feel that maybe at some point in time in his career because he’s played a lot of corner that he could be an emergency corner for us. So he has some flexibility. I think he could be a good star, an inside player.

CB was never his position. He was a safety who just played it.

From the moment he was drafted, Jason Allen IMO would be the equivalent of the FS in Saban's system. Further, it was my understanding that JA has the skills & speed to cover the slot WR (in a 3 WR set) and would do so when the situation dictates.
