look at ashougha for example

wasnt it his 3rd year before he broke out into a shutdown corner
1 thing jallen has over him is saftey is a way easier postion to play
&
jallen is in his 3rd year but his first 2 were saftey and last year in 9 games had 62 tkls and 3 picks idk bout u but in 9 games thts pretty damn good

so this is considered his first full year at corner and 2 starts and both starts shut his reciver out completly.....

he resembles ashomugha alot, (size, height, speed, shutdown ability) lets just see what happens through the last 8 games

I live in New England... it sucks! But I don't get to watch the games, I only get to see the stats. And from what I hear Jason Allen is stepping up finally. Has he started both of the last two games? And has he looked good from in coverage? Or has he made tackles cause he had to chase his guy down after missing the coverage and do his picks come from being in the wrong place?

I appreciate some insight from a fan lucky enough to live in the Miami area

my opinion is. out of all the newer guys we have. jason allens success would be more beneficial than any one else save long and henne. it would be franchise shaking if he developed into our asomughua. the freedom it would provide in our draft would also be greatly improved. he has been good in almost every game hes started. keep starting him. please also remember hes been wayyy better in games than in camps. which is more important? once again, keep him starting. even when he slips remember hes still learning his position.

His potential is still much GREATER at free safety.

If he stays at corner I'd expect more of a playmaker than a shutdown type. He's to big to be able to consistently run with WR in this league. Ted Ginn would eat him up.

I am a big fan of his and I want to see him play FS one day. I thought when he played at that spot he showed just as much as he is now at CB.

I don't agree. I never thought Allen played that bad at safety, but those with more knowledge than I do inferred that he was struggling with the assignments of his position and causing as many bad plays as good ones. He has the physical tools to play CB and its a position that is more instinctual than cerebral.

ashougha is a shut down corner proven there is no way he should be compared to him

Huh ..? Nmadi is 210 and apparently he runs with WR just fine, Jason is about that size, prboably a little bit smaller.. and remember he runs a 4.3? Also, in the Broncos game he was step for step with Marshall on every play they threw to him, so I'd say Allen is more than capable of being able to "run" with WR's.

I realize I am in the minority but I still am not impresssed with his play as of yet. To his credit he tackles well if the ball is thrown underneath and he has the advantage of coming at the guy. His ability to stay with a recievers has improved but he is still easily faked out.His interceptions were not great moves by him for the ball they have been more a matter of dumb luck. I think he will be with us another a season only because he is just good enough to hold onto his spot because we have needs of greater urgency to filll first. Maybe he will surprise me and blossom as some of you believe he is going to do and I will be eating crow about him. I hope so but in my heart I dont foresee him becoming an elite player, but what do I know. I dont even stay at the Holiday Inn I am a motel 6 guy.

dont rem even with royal.
Also ALlens strenght is jamming the WR adn thats what he did to marshall taht caused the INT to Will Allen so what you think hell do to a 180 lb Ginn? he'll smash him to the ground during the jam.

ok yes, J Allen has been playing fairly well.. but lets not forget hes had more bad games than good ones.. i say we wait a couple more weeks before we say that this is legit.

all i know is that he has been covering really good receivers and we havent been giving up that huge pay that killed us every game last year. when i watch him i see mistake free football of late and i think he is developing just fine. i really think people forget about his blown out knee in college and i think he is finally fully recovered from that or more or less feels more confident with it. it was a serious injury and to have that hinder in the back of your mind can mess with anyone. im not trying to blame his bad games on this but you just have to wonder he just looks like he is covering more ground and running with wr's better.

he has the best hands in our secondary by FAR.
But dont compare him to Ausomsjdhekdedh
