Miami's continued interest in corners, who have been no better than average, is troubling in that Jason Allen's fall from grace is almost complete. If the Dolphins had any confidence in their resident 6-1, 200-pound player, Allen would be a favorite to win the starting job vacated by Andre' Goodman's departure in free agency.

The Dolphins wouldn't need to mess with players such as ***gins.

The idea would be to allow Allen, who is 25 and entering his fourth NFL season, to finally fulfill the promise of his size and draft status. But the signing of Eric Green, the flirtation with ***gins and the probable selection of a rookie CB in the coming draft leads to the conclusion the club has zero confidence in what Allen offers.

You know I have to agree. I mean Allen is not the Trifecta's player and why would they let go of Nathan Jones who showed promise last season and is their guy. If Miami signs ***gins goodbye Allen and even if they dont I have Miami drafting two corners so tome his days are numbered either way.

I think we need to seriously close the door on this Draft bust.

who said jason allen cant start ?? until training camp comes around and pre season we will see who deserves to start because the job would not be handed to anyone

they are most definitely numbered
he will play to potential this year or bust
I am hoping he earns his keep

Or they're preparing for Will Allen to be a FA next year.. which means we still need CB's to get prepared.

Yes indeed, one good thing that can come from this is that W. Allen will play his heart out since he is entering his contract year. Let's hope he plays better than average this year.

O maybe we are just trying to get depth? Considering the people on our roster, im pretty sure his days are not numbered!

Guys I supported Jason Allen before, but this is the third regime who cannot find a position for him does that not tell you something. Trust me and I have found every excuse to give this guy a chance, but he is clearly a bust why would Miami be looking at other corners when they just signed Green and are likely to draft one.

Although i agree that JA will most likely never be a starting caliber DB (Saban i hate you, you moron) the premise of this article is ridiculous.
Every team needs 3rd, 4th and 5th string DBs. So by us going and signing a couple, this means JA is on his way out???
These writers have nothing to talk about these days.

Yeah, I wanted this guy to turn into a quality corner. But I just don't see it happening. His days are definitely numbered.

He has failed at two positions. I have thought his days were numbered for a while. To be honest, I am still surprised that he is on the team.

And I agree, I hope we go after 2 CBs via draft.

I am really hoping we draft 2 corners this year. If so we would probably be able to release Allen. I know he is already considered to be one of our biggest draft day busts but this would solidify it. The sad thing is he has all the intangibles and ability to play in the NFL, he just doesn't have the smarts or football knowledge to put them to good use.

The only reasons Jason Allen is still on the roster is: 1) He was a former 1st round pick. 2) He has size and speed and 3) We have very little talent at the CB position. Once we find more talent then Jason Allen is a goner.

***gins can play. The guy splays with a high motor and is a ST ace. He can play the nickle/dime spot well. Will he come and be incredible, but he is an excellent depth signing. BTW we are not the only team who likes him he is visiting the Titans today.

the writing has been on the wall for a while now - but i don't think the green signing or ***gins visit has anything to do with it. we do need depth at CB, right? i've always stood behind this guy b/c he in an athletic freak but how long are we gonna wait? he's gone through coaching and position changes basically every year but with a more simplistic scheme intact at the same position for consecutive years - next year will be make or break for him.
