My first thought after the pick was ... "oh no ... not again? " Is it just me or Volts guys are usually overrated?

Yeah. He went to Tennessee so he's automatically overrated. Just like another "Volt" Peyton Manning.

:stupid:

:smackhead

Can we please create threads will a little more substance and legwork??

Jason Allen IS overrated in a sense that he isn't 16 pick material-- more like late 30's-mid 2nd. I can not say that we picked up something that will "Wow" you in a good way, but I definitely won't say he is an Eddie Moore.

He was projected to go to the 2nd-3rd round after a failed physical 2 weeks ago and we still drafted him? Not only that, but he had hip surgery which for a DB, it's as bad as a QB with a shoulder surgery. I have ALOT of questions about this pick up. I watched him play and he was nothing spectacular- probably at best as good as Brock Marion (remember him?). I would have felt better if we went after Nick Mangold, Chad Greenway, Antonio Cromartie, Winston Justice, Manny Lawson, Bobby Carpenter and even Daniel Bullocks.

I really thought we would get Donte Whitner but damn did those Bills REACHED big time for a big time player like Whitner.

Jason Allen was like the top rated safety in the draft right behind Michael Huff and probably would of been drafted before Huff had he not gottin hurt. This is an excellant pick. Saban tried to recruit him out of highschool and saw his talent.

If he puts in the years of service that Marion did at such a high level then he is a steal! And the lowest I saw him on any mock drafts were early second, while he climbed as high as number 11 to St Louis on others. This is a great pick for Miami and I feel he will eventually become a pro bowl DB for us. And I thought I read that the reports that he recently failed physicals were just rumours

He's not overrated at all. He would of been like a top 10 pick last year if he came out and the only reason he wasn't this year is because he got injuried.

you are kidding right? A friend of mine is a Cowboy fan called me cussing right after we picked him. Said we stole his free safety. Moreover, I doubt very seriously he would have been around in the second round. Where did you read he was a second round grade?

Post the link where he had surgery on his hip.

Hum, let's see E Moore drafted #2 (which would be considered a #1 because of the ricky trade) by the infamous duo WannSpeil...:goof:

Comparing ANY draft's or draft-picks with those 2 former :laughat: draft gurus
is laughable to say the very least!!!
:lol2:

He was projected to be a top 10 pick if he came out last season, and he is now healthy, as evident from the fact that he could run a 4.4 at the combine! This is getting ridiculous. This kid is going to be tremendous for us. If most media outlets, most of which know just a LITTLE more about these guys then we do, call us winners on draft day, and Nick seems to be pleased and has never disappointed us before, why can you not just accept Jason Allen as our starting safety for years to come!?
