By all accounts Saban runs a complicated secondary system. Allen will be starting later in the year, but not for the opener.

I think the obvious, the longer it takes him to get into camp, the longer he will take to digest the playbook and be effective. I say right now that if he signed tomorrow, you are probably lokking at the 3-4 week of the season before he is up and running. If is longer you are looking at 6-8 games into the season before he grasps everything.
