Did he play at all? I didn't see his name in the box score.

He had a holding called against him on a punt return; that was the only mention of his name.

Our secondary played fine. Our pass rush was terrible. How can you have no pressure on charlie batch.

because pitt has a good o-line.... i think tillman played alright along with bell, but there were way too many coverages blown. it will take time for that unit to mesh just like our o-line, all in due time

I'd like to see Allen play. I like what Will Allen did as well as Renaldo Hill. I didn't care for the rest.

I wouldn't say they played great...but when the Steelers started running the ball at will in the 4th quarter it put the secondary in a tough situation by forcing them to be more concerned with helping in run support. That's a recipe for disaster. Gotta shut down that run 1st and foremost...and then the secondary will be fine.

We sacked Charlie Batch three times.

The secondary is the biggest weakness on the defense, without question. Personally, I am a huge believer in Travis Daniels and I think/hope he will make a tremendous difference when he gets back, hopefully next week. Will Allen was very solid from what I saw, and boy, it sure as hell is a difference to have a CB who can help in run support (my only knock on Madison).

I think we should throw Jason Allen in there & call it a learning process; let's see what he does. Lots of blown coverage back there, and I don't think he could possibly be worse. All he'd do back there is improve, IMO. It'd be perfect to do so now, because I sure as hell don't fear Buffalo's passing "attack" - same goes for Tennessee the following week.

batch stank!! i think pitts oline was great they always are

Batch was better than Culpepper. The stats bear it out. The win bears it out. The overall play bears it out (though first 3 quarters Culpepper looked better than Batch did).

Charlie wasn't great through the air, but he was killer in term of his scrambling. I think he ran for two first downs on _ and 10 plays.

I'll tell you how. When your front 7 is giving up 5 yards a carry that slows down your pass rush...because the d-line has to commit to stopping the run 1st before they can worry about reaching the QB. That's why it's important to have an effective running game. It not only slows down the pass rush, but it also forces the secondary to come up and help against the run. Both of these things help the passing attack and definately helps an average QB like Batch.
