Whats the deal with all these mock drafts having him as a 1st to high 2nd round pick? I know his athleticism is out of this world being 6'6 260 but hes only played Div 1 football 1 year and i though we could take a look at him in the 3rd to 5th round area. Im a big USF fan but even i wouldnt touch him with the first two picks in the round. Thats a big risk to take. Hes a high risk high reward guy. Selvie is more accomplished and i would love to snag him. Hes been falling off the radar because of constantly being double and triple teamed.

i like selvie more myslef, but pierre paul is getting phenomenal rankings from all the draft sites. they both have their question marks though. selvie shot himself in the foot by hanging around another year.

I am unfamiliar with Paul-Pierre's game but I do still like George Selvie. I think it's kind of sad that Selvie has fallen from a sure thing 1st Rounder to someone we could snag in the 3rd or even 4th Round.

Pierre-Paul has a ton of talent. he has only been playing football for like 5 years, but he's a natural pass-rusher. so i agree, he's very raw.

he's measurables are off the charts though. you can be certain he will tear it up at the Combine. usually, people with that type of talent coupled with that type of athleticism get overdrafted.

Selvie's a one trick pony, a rush end who can't play the run. The upside on Pierre-Paul might be bigger than any draft eligible player. Absolutely it's risk reward but with an 80+ inch wingspan, a good array of moves for someone so inexperienced and tremendous closing speed, he could easily go in the top 15.

Selvie is very skinny and lacks ideal build. You have to give him credit as a puss rusher. Two seasons ago he recorded over 18 sacks...

What has killed Selvie IMO is that he peaked so early, he began to be double teamed, and he could not take that next step by consistently defeating the double teams. Too many teams have gotten away with sending a simple chip his way, and it's been effective.

Yeah i agree with that.. he needs to win the double teams battles more often. But in all fairness to him hes been double teamed a lot! I would still take him in the 3rd 4th round range. We all know he can get to the QB.

He went back for his Sr year because the nfl draft committee gave him a 3rd round grade last year.

yeah i know. from 14 sacks his sophomore year, to 5 sacks his junior year, to 3 this year. he got statistically worse every year after 2007. didn't work out real well, huh?

I never said he didnt get statistically worst. I just said he came back for his Sr year because they gave him a 3rd round grade. Basically he felt he could do better and improve his draft stock. Which obviously he didnt.
