Jason Taylor at LB

at the nfl.com website on the depth charts for miami it shows jt play at lb not de. http://www.nfl.com/teams/depthcharts/MIA
any one got news about this.

They are making the same mistake that alot of sites are making. Everyone thinks we will be a 3-4 defense this year, just because that is what the media saw in OTA's.

he probaly will play some lb this year.but he is still def end.:fire:

Correct, but until mentioned otherwise by the front office. We are still a 4-3 defense. So that in fact solidifies Jason Taylor as being a defensive end. He will just line up during certain plays in the 3 point or standing position and the base line will shift. A pseudo 3-4, so to speak.

didnt we do this same exact thing last season!! there was a big mess about it and it ended in JT's agent having to make an offical statement that Jt would not want to play LB

now will he w/ saban is a different story....

If you think about the prospect of JT lining up in a different spot on every play you have to get excited and the opposing defensive coordinator has to be losing some sleep. I personally don't care what he's listed as and I don't think Saban is either. Line him up and let it rip.

If I am not mistaken, Jason's statement came after the hiring of Saban. I could be wrong on this. But I could have sworn that came after the season was over and Saban was hired. If that is in fact the case. It appears that Saban has changed his mind.

If that is not the case, then I don't think Saban would hold a meeting with the verterans to get their input only to turn everything around on them.

Not to mention, from the last camp reports, I think I read, Taylor is now very pleased with his role in our new defense.

:D I think that's the plan and why so many of us are excited to see it in action. Saban himself said (paraphrased) we want to be a team that you don't want to face. We want to be physical to the point that teams don't want to play us.

Well, with the size additions to this defense and not loosing too much in the speed category, I think we are headed in the right direction.

I wouldn't take to much stock in these early roster predictions. They've got David Bowens listed as DE, at 260 lbs he won't be playing a 3-4 DE.

first i'd like to say that i think jason taylor at lb should be very interesting since i'm sure saban would let him loose on the qb every time. i see him doing balot of lawerence taylor ability if not better. pass rush my gentleman is going to b our fortay!!! u watch 30sacks this year if not better

First I've heard anything about JT possibly playing LB
You're 23. It's the first you've heard about a lot of things including JT lining up wherever Saban feels like. For all you let's hire Bates fans this will be fun to watch. Jt not being on the corner every down that is!!!!
