Ok, first I want to say jason is one of my favorite players. But I thought this play really displays the type of team and players the fins have. Did anyone else think that when he dove at pittman that if he had just run a little farther and gotten closer(since he dove at the 10) that he had a chance to punch the ball out? I certainly thought so, just wondering if anyone else thought the same thing.

He might have gotten him sure. Certainly Jason Taylor from 5 years ago would have. The fact remains Taylor missed Pittman in the backfield the first time, he had the speed to catch up with Pittman and Pittman made the mistake of slowing down, but did it really make a difference? I think even at the 10 yard line Tampa scores anyway. Even with our good goal line D it just wasn't our day.....

Let's not forget he was playing with an injured foot. Go JT!!!!

I think the main reason JT was running after Pittman was because he whiffed on the initial tackle that sprug him free to begin with. He was basically trying to make up for his own mistake on that play....as he rightfully should.

PHINZ RULE!!!

If he had punched the ball out, odds are it would have went out the end zone for a touchback.. fins ball. I really thought that play really characterizes the team. Tries hard but just not that smart.

If mckinney didn't get pancaked, enabling the defense to destroy gus in about 2 seconds, that play probably would not have mattered

your right because if had just been blocked and not missed the tackle he would have stood there and watched...

man I am sick of all the excuses people make for players on this team. Its to the sickening point. I start reading a thread and the dribble that rolls up just makes me sick. If I get passed the first sentence on most of these threads its a miracle. ah he had a hurt foot, wahaha. well he ran all the way down field why not a little farther! ah I don't think any other wide receiver would would have even touched the ball wahhahahaa. and it goes on week after week.

Well, they are excuses, they are explanations. I guess when you want nothing less then the impossible, such explanations can seem conjured.

Anyways, JT had a hurt foot, is in a FREAKING CAST (because he is waahahaha faking his excuse) and was taken out most of the plays by Saban due to his injury.

So he couldn't run 5 or 7 more yards? Was he taken out after that play and did not return? well?

Jason didn't make the takle behind the line where he should have. Where the heck was the rest of the team!

I am not dissing Jason, like I said he is one of my favorite players. But that play to me is the essence of the fins the last decade or so. They try real hard, just not the sharpest tools in the shed.

Pittman isn't that fast anyway. I can't believe he slowed down on that play. Gruden read him the riot act after the game for that one. He was also fined for it.

No, he could and did. But he couldn't run FAST enough to catch him. He had him behind the LOS and then (only JT) chased him 20+ yards and you fault him for not tackling the guy?

Jesus, there are more important things to bittch about them JT's injury preventing him for making a tackle after running 20+ yards down field and being the only one on the entire defense in the position to make such a tackle and misses.
