Jason Taylor Is Ranked 1st In:

Jason Taylor is the defensive MVP so far. What a year this guy is having. If we do end up making the playoffs, I would almost go as far as calling him the player of the year in the NFL. Yes better than Manning and Tomlinson.

sad part is, because JT isnt a mouthy or flashy guy and plays for miami, he will probably be overlooked for any huge awards

I dunno i guess julius peppers just sounds better or maybe it's cuz he was drafted #2 overall..... havent you all heard it's not about performance anymore, it's about showmanship.... i mean it's obvious !!!!!!! Look at chad johnson.... people think he's great because he's on ESPN nonstop. The guy is barely any better than T.J. Housh. JT just does his job very well..... that's "not enough".. as Boston George would say. Look who has the most sacks since 2002, it's JT by like more than 10..... you wouldn't know that tho.

I agree about Taylor's performance this year being excellent but I wouldn't put him up in the Defensive MVP race. I know it's kind of unfair but I feel the Defensive MVP will be someone who is able to make their team win.

Unfortunately, with Miami's record (Unless it gets drastically better, which I hope it does), they're not winning enough to have any league MVPs. I know Jason Taylor has helped the Phins tremendously in the last couple of wins (And in some losses which were absolutely not his fault) but it's pretty much guaranteed to go to a player who forms part of the defence of a team which wins lots of games.

At the moment, I think Tommie Harris seems to be the front runner for NFL Defensive MVP (He gets a lot of press acclaim) but that could all change over the rest of the season. Hopefully Miami will get on a streak and that'll help Taylor's case. Actually, no harm to him, but I'm a lot more worried about Miami winning games than any of the players making it to the Pro Bowl or getting MVP awards. Sorry about wittering a bit there.

How did this thread become about Houshmanzada (sp?) JT deserves defensive player of the year but he won't get it because the media isn't about performance, they are about hype and media ratings.

What the hell?

It's from a commercial, a bunch of guys are drafting fantasy players and the one guy is clueless and has no idea how to pronounce TJ's name. It was pretty funny.

In all likelihood they'll give Julius Peppers NFL Defensive MVP

44 Tackles, 11 Sacks, 3 Forced Fumbles, 5 Passes Defended for Peppers

Compared to 35 Tackles, 8 Sacks, 1 Interception, 5 Forced Fumbles, 3 Passes Defended and 1 Defensive TD for Taylor

What's amazing is that in the limited amount of playing time Bell has had he is 4 behind the leader in passes defended.
