A few things I got out of what Jason Taylor's interviewed revealed about what's Parcells plans.

First, you can see that a lot of what is being circled about Joey Porter is 'false'. Its being leaked out by unnamed sources. These sources could very well be linked to Parcells trying to gain some trade value from Porter. You never know. Anyways,

Secondly, I noticed that Jason Taylor very clearly showed that he wants a raise. He mentions that last year they 'overlooked him' as far as taking care of him, when talking about the 'business side' of the issue. He said he basically was fine with that.

So he was fine with that because he knew that he had to show that he still had something left in the tank, which he did show he did. So now he expects to be 'taken care of', or play somewhere else.

But what caught my attention most was that Jason Taylor acknowledged that Parcells is looking for 'replacements' at "OLB". And that after that then they will deal with him in Free Agency.

That's interesting being that everyone all but has McClain as our choice at #12. I'm starting to believe that Miami is not looking to select an ILB at #12, but an OLB/DE.

This hunch will be magnified if once Free Agency starts and we hear of Parcells attempt to sign Karlos Dansby.

If that happens, then that would all but ensure that Miami has an OLB or two coming out of this draft.

Right now, as I am putting my mock drafts together, I tentatively have Miami looking for OLB/DE at #12 and a NT at #43.

I also wouldn't put it pass Parcells as attempting to land Rolle from AZ instead of drafting a FS, so that he can focus the draft on OLBs and a NT. I also wouldn't put it pass the Merling lose 10lbs by TC as a potential to try him out at SOLB and drafting a DE to compete with Langford too.

Anyways, just a few things I thought I read between the lines in that JT interview....:ponder:

Even if they were to sign a veteran free-agent ILB, they still might draft another ILB for 2 reasons, replacing Crowder or being prepared to have someone in place to step in for Crowder in case of injury, he is injury-prone after all.

Yeah, I expect them to draft an ILB some time in the draft. But not in the first 2 rounds is what I'm saying.

I would expect something around the likes of Jason Pierre Paul or that Odrick guy at #12 and Cam Thomas at #43. Then maybe an ILB in the 3rd or 4th round.

Maybe, 'MAYBE'...if they feel that Thomas or Cody would last till the 3rd round (doubt it) they'd go for an ILB that slipped into pick #43, but I doubt it. Especially if they did go and sign Karlos Dansby. Also wouldn't be surprised if they draft Eric Norwood in the 3rd, if he is still there.

i agree we need to create more pressure.we wont do it from the ilb position.it will have to come from the edge.getting a mlb in fa will be a big key.look for a kid from texas-clemson-michigan in the 1st.but i think we could go lb in the first 2 rounds, and nt in the 3rd.

I don't know. Do you really think that Cam Thomas or Mt Cody will last that far? Unless they trade up from the 3rd round pick to select one of them, then yeah, but if we are unable to sign a veteran NT, I don't think they risk that. They probably select Cam Thomas at #43. JMO.

What about the things Joey porter has said is false? Everything he has said has come out of his own mouth. He talked crap on monday when he was on espn. He talked crap on tuesday morning to omar kelly. and how could we forget tuesday afternoon on the radio. THE GLOVES IS OFF!!!

The FO is more concerned with OLBs right now because they have to figure out which one they'll pick when it comes time to draft and McClain and Bryant are gone. And indeed they have to weigh whether or not the OLB prospects actually are better than McClain or Bryant.

i see your point.i havent studied thomas, but there are some big strong kids out there.also there are a couple of guys from green bay in fa .what i am hoping is that bp and company can find a gem nt in the 3rd if needed.leaving a very good lb in the 2nd that could have dropped,or that we have targeted all along.its all guess work right now,and yours is as good as mine.heck i was pushing spiller 2 weeks ago.now i am on the defense lol.

Um, I never said, what PORTER SAID are false, I said that Jason Taylor confirmed that 'a lot of what is being circled about Joey Porter' are false. And that is exactly what Taylor affirmed.

I believe that if Dez Bryant dropped, then we may have to select him. But if McClain drops, I believe that there 'are' a few OLB prospects that are better than McClain. In fact, I actually 'expect' McClain to drop a little further than most expect.

I think that McClain will be there in the late teens/early 20's. JMO.

I recall hearing Taylor saying that he wanted to be down here in Miami because his family was here. He said it was never about the money - Miami was where he wanted to go.

All of this really means next to nothing. We all speculate and have our opinions on what we thing the FO will do in the offseason but none of us really know anything. They could end up getting an OLB, or NT in FA and draft an ILB in 1st round or even go with Dez Bryant or Spiller. Right now anything is possible IMO.

who knows what is really going on,if Mclain is there I see us taking him even before Dez I dont know I just feel it... If there both gone Im kinda lost! OLB-NT-WR?
