Some of the biggest one liners included Taylor telling @560WQAM he wouldn’t object to a role in the Dolphins organization, and endorsed Dan Marino. The idea of getting Taylor and Marino involved in the Fins organization is one that many Dolphins fans have been clamoring for.

“I haven’t changed my phone number for a while, but I’m around. I’m available. I’ve talked to Steve Ross and Jorge Perez a little bit,” JT (via Omar Kelly)
Taylor also spoke VERY highly of Dion Jordan who he said could be a lot better than I ever was. Taylor clearly must believe Jordan was underutilized and one has to wonder if this coaching staff can get that kind of production out of Jordan that many believe he is capable of having.

I guess we could stop with the trade Dion requests. But i think with our DE depth and this year's deep draft if Miami could get a 1st and 3rd or even 5th it would go a long way to help the team.

Nice for JT to say, and he's probably right. The coaches need to get their heads out of their poopers and move him to OLB.

JT is a good man. No way Jordan is better than Taylor.

With all respects to JT I will believe it when I see it . As JT was a great player. Thats going to be one big hill to climb for Jordan. The guy needs alot of work for that to happen.

While I believe that the coaching staff played a role in Jordan not coming close to reaching his potential last year...the biggest reason for Jordan not being better was...you guessed it Jordan himself. The player has to recognize his lack of proper practice habits and lack of work ethic. It starts and ends with Jordan and his maturity level....and about being a professional. The light has to go on inside of his head and heart

That's interesting, but do you remember any specific examples of a lack of work ethic while with the Dolphins? He was dealing with his shoulder issue, but I don't remember hearing of him dogging it in practice. I 'm adamant in my belief that his progess has been stunted because he's playing out of his true position at DE, he should be an OLB/Joker to make use of what he can do and minimize what he doesn't do well, dancing with OTs on 1st and 2nd downs. The guy is just a smooth athlete with quicks and an incredible burst, plus he can cover. Could be a great pass rusher, amazing in space, can cover TEs and he's 6-6 and muscular but very lean- dude is an OLB.

You make some good points but you heard rumblings all year about his " problems " in practice or not practicing well. Even Jordan at one point said he needed to practice better to get the confidence of the coaching staff. I can't pinpoint for you a specific instance but heard little digs all year about his fire and practice habits

I could see Taylor as an assistant dline coach, and Marino as a consultant to the executive staff. Marino may want to be a coach as well, but I don't think he will want to put in the hours and commitment.
I can take or leave Marino, but i would love Jason Taylor and Zack Thomas as part of the coaching staff.
