Jason Taylor is one person who believes Wake has all the tools to become a top pass rusher in the NFL. But like any rookie, he’ll need some time.

“He’s very athletic, you can see that,” Taylor said Thursday during a round of golf at Zo’s Summer Groove in Doral. “He’s quick, he’s fast, he’s sudden. He’s a strong guy, so you know the explosiveness is going to be there.

“It’s just a matter of learning this game and the nuances.”

What the hell does JT know? Have you not read that Wake is a waste? :)

dlockz & Goon need to set Taylor straight about this. No nfl camp cut wolb from the tundra can come in here and be good. resistance is futile.

BUT, the FORCE is strong within him. :)

there you go, straight from the decade's defensive player.

I will set u straight. I have never said anything negative about wake just facts. I just dont think doing good against a bunch of guys that ar not even close to NFl talent means a hell of alot in the NFL scheme of things. Some people want to get excited because he has 23 sacks facing guys like Clavin Armstrong, Aaron Fiaconi and Joe McGrath. Yea some real studs there. I hope he does well but it was basically like impressing in WLAF only lesser.

This is not the first time a vet has said something favorable about a teammate and hardly a sign of much especially in shorts.

Wake maybe a waste, but from one the best pass rusher in this decade and a person that has of now 120 sacks in his career maybe we are cutting Wake short.

Sarcasm my friend, Wake will be a beast. I expect him to have a few bone-crushing tackles on ST's, and to chime in with some of the same in limited play on D.

:tumbleweed:Oh im sorry a lot fill that Wake will suck so i can't tell if someone is serious or not. I personally think Wake will do great maybe not at the beginning but he will come around.

He can't be any worse than Vernon Gholston in his first year and we didn't even waste a draft pick on him. So tell me again how can we loose on this bet??

Cmon dlocks, is the glass always half empty with you. JT gives the kid some props and you shoot it down with your last comment. I think JT's opinion is worth something here and you still play it down.

At this point Cameron Wake should be regarded a lot like a low 2nd round or high 3rd round draft pick. Think of him like you would Sean Smith, Patrick Turner, or Kendall Langford from a year ago.

BTW, I'm not the only one saying so. His contract approximates that of a low 2nd round or high 3rd round pick, and immediately after he signed with Miami a league personnel guy noted how many teams were interested in him and specifically said that landing him is like getting an extra "first day" draft pick.

First day draft picks often fail. But they also often succeed.
