NFL Network's Albert Breer has heard "continually" that Bengals OC Jay Gruden is the favorite to be the Jaguars' next head coach.
Jacksonville has targeted almost strictly offensive coordinators in its coaching search. Jon's younger brother, Jay Gruden has earned a reputation for tutoring young quarterbacks via his work with Andy Dalton. Gruden cannot interview with the Jaguars until after Saturday's game against Houston, at soonest, but it sounds like he's still high on Jacksonville's short list. Gruden would implement a "horizontal" West Coast offense after Blaine Gabbert played his first year in Dirk Koetter's (theoretically) vertical-based scheme.

ive seen a lot of guys wanting him for a possible OC for us. this guy has had a lot of success no matter where he is. i bet he will be better than his bro. hopefully we give him a look if the fisher deal dont work out. it appears the bengals coaching staff might be picked apart , with zimmers name out there also, good we play them next year.

Can't figure out why we don't at least interview this guy. Everything he touches turns to gold, and not in the Midas sense.

ha. so we dont even interview this guy. we are in a holding pattern for a "big name" . . .

yeah i just got this feeling about this guy. one day we will be saying, we had the chance to sign him but didnt. hes that young shula that ross is looking for.

Do you expect us to interview everyone on the list in the first 72 hours?

Sorry just doesn't work like that. Beside, the Phins aren't releasing their list, so you don't know if he's on it or not.

Remember, the media is focusing on Fisher, because that's the ONLY news out there right now.

I have no idea why we haven't expressed any interest in him. He is an interesting candidate. Certainly fits the mold of what Ross wants more than the freaking Bears special teams coordinator.

i hope you are right . i hope they are not settling on fisher. coaches like fisher are available every year. long list of mediocre seasons ,sprinkled with some success. they need to leave no stone unturned.

How would everyone feel about us running a West Coast offense? Personally I am not so sure about the idea, Moore throws a good deep ball.

Guys that were head coaches of one franchise for 16 consecutive season are available every year?

I'm not saying Fisher is or is not the guy we should hire, but I don't think he is a run of the mill spare coach.
