Jeremy Macklin at 25? A joke?

They're not saying we are taking them. They are ranking them based on their assessment of their skills.

Um, we should be ecstatic if Macklin falls to us. He's a fantastic route runner, he's got great hands, and he's faster than greased ****.
We need a real game-breaking wide receiver very badly, Ted Ginn is a joke.

darn, you were doing so well there until the end.

We have a lot of needs, but to me we need a real wide receiver as much as we need anything else. Who would you prefer? Brian Cushing the roid freak?
If you're saying that Macklin isn't worth the 25th pick, then you're dead wrong. Especially for us since we have such a gaping hole at the wide receiver position. If we get our offense a couple of playmakers on the outside, we could become a very dynamic high scoring team.

Cmon, what the hell did Ted Ginn ever do to impress anyone at this level? I need a little more than one good play every 3 or 4 games from my #1 wide receiver.

Oh, I especially loved it when he dropped a handoff on a trick play (something he supposedly specializes in) and lost 20 yards, completely crushing any hopes we had of a comeback in a playoff game. That was beautiful.

There was a lot more that went wrong on that play besides Ted Ginn dropping that ball. Granted, it would have been nice had he made a play.

First, he was gassed from running decoy go routes for four or five consecutive plays before this one, making it kind of a bad call. Second, what should have been a handoff became an impromtu pitch because the interior line was completely invisible on the play. Just FYI.

That was a busted play. The guard wiffed on his block and the defender hit penningtons arm before the handoff. If your gonna throw anyone under the bus for that play, make it Andy Alleman.

But ultimately, this thread has nothing to do with Ginn. Thats why i said what i said.

i've read that ireland and his staff have a very high grade on maclin. so much so that ireland personally made a trip to see him play in november in missouri.

who knows if this is legit maybe ginn is on the trading block which for me wouldn't bother me one bit.

take it for what it is. a rumor.

The thread has everything to do with Ted Ginn. Ted Ginn's lack of NFL caliber talent is the whole reason we need a guy like Macklin in the first place. If Ted Ginn didn't suck tremendous testes we wouldn't be having a discussion about drafting a wideout in the first round at all.

That being said, I hope that I'm wrong and Ted Ginn develops into a great receiver. But as far as I'm concerned, I've seen more promisde from Bess than I have from Ginn.

nobody is having that discussion.

Actually im pretty sure the OPs point was how ridiculous it would be for us to take a WR in the first round.

Just saying, we need a wideout badly and Macklin is a great prospect. It's a moot point anyway because he won't fall to us at 25. I'd love it if Heyward-Bey or Harvin fell though.
