Why does almost every mock draft I see have us taking this guy. He has missed the entire year with an ACL issue. Is he that great that we should continue down this path of taking injured players and hope they don't get hurt? Seems like it would be a typical Grier pick but hopefully the new guy has less of a penchant for injured players.

I don't put much into mocks, particularly not this early.

The landscape can change a lot after the combine and pro days.,

Been thinking about this exact thing a lot lately, its tough to envision he'll be our first round pick, but at the same time, he's probably the best prospect at our biggest position of weakness.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I am really hoping a RT option is available that will make this an easier decision for us. My gut tells me we should steer clear, but I also want McCoy on the roster.

On that note, remember when Howie Roseman took Sidney Jones early in the second round after Jones tore his achilles at Washington's pro day, in like March? Jones never recovered, granted the ACL and achilles are different.

Sounds realistic Miami taking a guy coming off an injury that's probably why lol

But if the mock is really realistic they would have us picking him up in the second/third round.

How does McCoy compare to will Johnson as a prospect, the CB from Michigan last year? He too was a top rated prospect who missed time with a significant injury. He dropped to the 2nd round I believe.

He is still the best DB who will be available in the draft and we have zero starting DBs currently signed for 2026. Not saying I would take him, but it seems like an easy pick right now. The board will get clearer after the playoffs and combine/pro day work outs.

He’s the best CB prospect in this draft class but with our recent history, yeah, it would be tough to stomach spending a first round pick on a guy coming off a major knee injury. Some other really good corner prospects in this class, maybe 5-6 that will have a first round grade. Delane from LSU is really good. I think people are underrating AJ Harris too.

If we pick around where we are currently slated, then I’m personally hoping for Carnell Tate to be on the board. Just draft the best player available as this team needs high end talent.

Mocks this early have no value. Just something to talk about. And, I hope, the new GM won't target prospects with significant injuries.
