The AFC's Defensive Player of the Month goes to Miami Dolphins linebacker Jerome Baker, who earns his first recognition of this kind. Baker compiled 3.5 sacks, six QB hits and 12 total tackles (six tackles for loss) in three games. The fourth-year LB is an overlooked component of an underrated defense for Miami, a team riding a seven-game winning streak into January

I saw also AVG had the most qb hits per pff.

Baker's much better blitzing than out covering RBs. They were misusing him badly during the 1-7 stretch.

Baker is the very least of Miami’s problems. He’s signed long term and playing solid football.

Hopefully we can draft another middle LB for more help, draft another WR, draft a RB, and sign/draft OL help.

I am very happy with Baker and AVG as our outside LBs. While Van Noy provided a huge benefit last season, shedding his contract has proven to be the right move. We could stand to upgrade at MLB this off-season. That's really the only defensive position where I find the play underwhelming at times.

Love Baker, thought I’d miss McMillan but Baker has done a grand job. I know they moved him from the middle and I think it helped him in that regard. His closing speed to stop the run and a mobile QB is understated, whenever I see him he’s all over the place tackling someone.

Elandon Roberts has done an admirable job, but we could use a Fred Warner/Darius Leonard type next to Baker. Would make this D complete. It's already very good, but could be world class!
