Could Porter provide a spark for our offense?

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/lastcall?page=lastcall/week5

Now that the Raiders are off to an 0-4 start and Randy Moss keeps talking about how the players don't care, expect trade interest in wide receiver Jerry Porter to heat up. The trading deadline is a week from Tuesday. If there is a trade -- which is still remote because the Raiders want Porter to pay back $4 million of his signing bonus -- his best chance is to land in the AFC East. The Patriots are sniffing around, but the Dolphins might be the more active team. Wide receiver Marty Booker hurt his right shoulder Sunday against the Patriots and the Dolphins need to upgrade speed at receiver. Porter can obviously offer that.

No. If he can't open up holes for Ronnie or complete a pass for more than 10 yards he's probably not going to provide any spark for our offense.

actually, i wouldn't be... aaahh...maybe im desperate

Quarterback Issues
poor Offensive Line play
mediocre production from Booker, McMicheal, Chambers
and then there is Ronnie Brown

whats next?

I would welcome him wiht open arms. Booker is slow, CAN't STAND ON A DAMN FIELD and alhtough he does make plays, he drops more passes and falls preventing plays from occuring. He costs too much for an above average WR.

If Booker has a signficant injury then by all means bring this guy in. I don't know if the dolphins would want to go through the effort for what is essentially a lost season though.

With Booker down and HAgan not showing much, the Dolphin s are looking a little thin at WR. But I don't know about Porter. The last thing the fins need right now is a player with a bad attitude.

I would rather have Moss. But I doubt either happen.

I dunno, couldn't they just stick Russell in the game or activate Vick? I don't think our problems are at WR, although they kind of remind me of fly strips b/c the opposing defenders are always stuck to them.

I had the fortune of getting to meet Porter at my old job back in Las Vegas. I worked at the pool at the Hard Rock Hotel And Casino and he was there for our big "Rehab" party that we threw on sundays and (might I add that this was during the whole contraversy) that he was there wearing his Raider shorts and when I spoke to him he was very nice, polite, and had a few choice words about Art Shell's offense. He said that the offense was outdated and that it was unfortunate because he was proud to be a Raider.

All in all he seems like he's not the turd everybody tries to make him out to be, but that's just from my experience with him.
