Appearing as guests on PBS’s Charlie Rose (thanks for the head’s up, SportsBusiness Daily), Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Panthers owner Jerry Richardson talked about a variety of issues. I’ll be posting some of the most interesting aspects of their discussion right here.

The first one relates to the pre-draft meeting between Richardson and quarterback Cam Newton. Though the topic was addressed by Tom Sorensen of the Charlotte Observer in April, it’s worth repeating.

It isn't 1953 anymore you retard. Also, you aren't running a private school. The more I hear about this guy, the more he sounds like a scumbag...

I was about to start a thread on it too. really ? you tell someone they can't have tattoos on your team and you bring in shockey?

If it's his team it's his rules George Steinbrenner started the no facial hair policy for the Yankees.

I don't know if I've ever seen a guy who is more of a walking failure than this guy. It makes you wonder how he got so wealthy...

If i were Newton i would get a HUGE tat on my forearm that said "TATTOO"

Haha, how do ya like that jerry? prick

Shockey isn't going to be the face of the franchise, the plans are for Cam newton to be so he is held to a higher standard.

This does not even make sense..Everyone knows that tattoo's on Cam would be illegible...

I don't see a problem in having standards for the way your employees present themselves to the public. Unless you think that should go out the window based on how much talent you have. Plenty of other sports teams have had grooming and dressing standards.

Standards are one thing, unreasonable standards are another. It's become more and more obvious why Andrew Luck decided to stay another year at Stanford. I wouldn't want to play for this douchebag either...

So he spent another year in college just so he could get a tattoo? Sounds like a smart decision.

Not to mention in the "Real World" a Tattoo will get you shown the door in your opening interview.

Its his team, he's cutting the check, I think he can..for the most part, do what he wants....

Apparently employers can now tell you what to do with your own body just cause they pay you... what if his boss told ''all the players on my team have to be gay''... same thing... bot of course some of you will argue otherwise... the reach of an employer stops at limiting his employess freedom out of the workplace.
