Heres a guy that is flying under the radar a bit…but he is going to destroy the combine/pro day and start getting talked about a lot more. Bit raw in terms of route running IMO. Don't get me wrong he looks smooth out there, but Im not sure he quite understands defenses enough and that uncertainty will show up on the film. The guy is a physical specimen…he is listed at 6'7 and goes about 250. He will probably run in the 4.6s which is insane for that size. Crazy strong…wouldn't be shocked to see him put up 30 reps at 225…but that strength doesn't show up right now as a blocker…though the potential is there.

This is a guy that might sneak into round 2…but maybe a round 3 guy. He is probably a red zone package guy in the first year while easing him in…but if you want a chance at a Jimmy Graham type ceiling this is your guy. He may never reach that…probably won't in fact. But for a team sorely lacking a RZ presence he is someone I will be keeping a close eye on.

Not a whole lot of production for a physical specimen. In that offense at Penn St he should have been a frequent target, especially in the red zone, but just 3 tds last season. Not that he doesn't have potential, just questionable.

Definitely true. That offense in general was terrible though…the line was atrocious and Hackenburg had a tough go of it this year. You are drafting him purely based on upside and ability. If he had produced relative to his potential he would be a top 10 pick and not someone we are talking about in the 3rd round possibly. TEs are pretty notorious for not producing in college…its a product of how college offenses are run.

Couldn't see us taking him. He's most likely a 2nd rounder and we have Sims developing also we have more pressing needs now with Philbin on the hot seat

He's one of the main reasons I think this TE class is underrated.

With TE, everyone entering the NFL is raw to some degree. Steep learning curve for that transition. Very few rookie TE's play great football. I think you're looking for a good set of tools. James has some rare tools. Don't think he sees the 4th.

Im pretty high on James and Jean Sifrin as potential impact players at the TE position that nobody is really talking about. Sifrin is older…but James is going to get a lot more pub after people see just how freakish he is.

If he tests like a true freak, which seems plausible, he's in the running for top TE off the board (depending on how the other guys test too, obv). Right now, I have him in the 2nd-3rd RD. But if he has speed to stretch a D down the middle at that size, NFL teams will find a role for him, and they'll develop him.

Not even close to Jimmy Graham. James just ran a 4.86 with a 1.70 10-yard split.

Damn, Williams just ran a 4.9. He aint sniffing the 1st round with that.

I was pretty disappointed with that time. I was hoping for at least something in the low 4.7s.

I said before this whole thing started I would be surprised if any of these guys ran sub 4.7. Two small school guys have in Saxton and Pruitt but the fastest time other than those two has been Walford at 4.79.

Looks like I'll be checking out some film on Saxton. Had no idea he was that fast.

Yeah I think he was at the East-West Shrine game or the Senior Bowl (can't remember which now) and they talked about his speed. I knew he would be fast but I also see he's a tweener...somewhere between WR and TE.

you guys think we are going to draft another TE in the draft this year? I personally am hoping not.... but thats just me.
