Jet Center to miss camp, possible beginning of Season

I was not a big fan of him in Buffalo.

He's a very knowledgeable player, but he makes some bone-headed moves on the field, that's for sure.

He can be overpowered by bigger tackles, and he had a tendency to snap the ball over the QB's head quite often.

If I was a Jets fan, I'd be rooting for Mangold to take the Center spot.

hmmm, Mangold just got the call, we'll see how he fares.

I think they should of given him the chance straight away, after all he is the franchise guy at that position.

Jets | Mangini comments on progress of Mangold and Ferguson

During his press conference Saturday, June 17, <A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/27/nfl">New York Jets head coach Eric Mangini commented on the progress of C Nick Mangold and OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson. Mangini said, "I like their progress. Both guys are working as hard as they can. They're extremely mature and their approach is great. But they're rookies, and at the end of the day, they're rookies. Their attitude is outstanding. I'm happy with where they are in terms of their effort and their performance. They're seeing a lot of things they've never seen before, dealing with a lot of things they've never dealt with before, in a whole new world, at a whole new level. But I'd say that both of them, are ready for the challenge and they're excited about the challenge and they're embracing the challenge. There's going to be bumps with them and there's going to be bumps with a lot of things in a new situation. But they're really, really working hard at it, which is great."

Darn It!!!!!!!!!!

When i read the thread title i thought it ws Mangold that was down but NOOOO its some other guy who by being injured allows Mangold to step in. Although Teague is pretty good. I forgot that they signed him this year.

Unfortunelty, I think Mangold is going to be serious for them

I figured that Mangold would start anyway, so this isn't that big of news to me I guess

WOW, we'll see how much this will hurt them.

A guy who never played a down for the Jets, still not playing a down won't hurt much.

That was why we drafted the top 2 offensive lineman in the draft.

All this does is get him his reps right away, very soon the jets will have one of the finer o-lines in the game.

that is what kinda scares me. Their picks Mangold, and Brick are gonna really beef that line up for a long time..

Thats an improvementin my opinion Mangold is gonna be a stud.
