I happened to stop by the Gang Green (Jets fan chat site),,,,and they were listing the Top 10 worst Jets moments in History....how did they narrow it to just 10?

Anyway, the Jets fans are still crying about Don Shula and how we whupped them in the 1982 AFC Championship game.

6) 1982 AFC Championship game. Don Shula cheats and wets down Orange Bowl field with water cannons and a Voodoo summoned monsoon. Jets best player Freeman McNeil is negated by quagmire conditions. Richard Todd self-destructs in second half (5 picks in the game) and Jets lose AFC Championship game 14-0. Richard Todd never recovers from this game, and his Jet career ends after only one more season (aided by Sports Illustrated cover hex). Jets don't get back to Championship game until 1998. Worse still Walt Michaels – a good coach – is so depressed he gets in a mysterious alcohol fueled altercation on the plane ride home. Can you blame him for wanting to get pie-eyed after that game. Jets in ultimate wisdom can him, and turn the reigns over to Joe Walton. Terrific. Walton takes Jets to 7 – 9 record following year. I hope you are proud of yourself Don Shula. Ouch
 
Loved that game...AJ Duhe had 3 INT's and a TD....Nice job Shula!..As soon as the gun sounded I ran out onto the front porch and proclaimed at the top of my lungs..."Dolphins in the Superbowl baby!"....Some of my friends were playing touch football in the street in front of our house...My next door neighbor (big Raider fan) immediately said "shut the hell up!)...A great day!
 
why is this in their top 10 because they got lucky and made the afc championship game or because shula unknowingly dismantled the jets for years to come?
 
Well, we always accuse them of sucking....the only difference is we have tons & tons of proof regarding that!:evil:

I have the same sentiments about the NE "snowblower game"

However...that's football...
 
Screw those guys: they "cheated" every game by opening up the tunnel on one end of Shea Stadium, the other, or both, dependent on who had the ball in order to create a "wind tunnel" effect.
