I am fully convinced the Jets exaggerated Braylon being a Diva in order for the Dolphins or Pats to back off from signing him. The Jets knew they wouldn't be able to keep him because of their cap situation but are probably praying to the football gods he doesn't sign with NE or Miami. Considering Miami hasn't aggressively pursued him, it seems to have worked. NE, not so much. Braylon is visiting the Pats tomorrow. Bellicheck knows talent always wins games and you don't win SB's with the Hartlines of the world. So good luck Ireland. Enjoy your Brian Hartline. Maybe one day he will learn to beat press coverage and become a playmaker. Not!!!

BTW, I will take everything I ever said about Ireland back if he ends up signing Braylon but I know it won't happen. Ireland likes his team squeeky clean and Marshall is enough of a headache, although in Braylon's case I think his issues were strongly exaggerated by Rexy. Smart calculated move by fat **** to scare away Ireland.

braylon is a worse headache than marshall, ireland made the right decision.

How? Why? Because of what the Jets said? I'm not buying it. All last year they were boasting of how much of a great teammate and team player he was.

cant really say, but i think its best we stay away from braylon because i dont see marshall and braylon getting along at all. It will screw up any chemistry this offense has going for them this season.

I could be wrong but I think Marshall would rather have Braylon than Hartline. I think winning is very important to Marshall. Besides, Braylon would keep double teams away from Marshall more often.

thats the reason why we should add braylon.. he's the deep threat that we are lacking, and can be enough of a distraction to keep double teams off of marsh

How in the world is braylon a worse headache than Marshall. marshall got suspended by his coach for acting like a spoiled brat and then had to be traded , not to mention his penchent for getting arrested for fighting with women. Lets not exaggerate things

Conspiracy theories are fun. But they are most often wrong.

I see no reason to assume Braylon isn't a diva. I also don't see a reason why that's necessarily some huge issue as long as he produces. I mean, if he starts acting up we've got what, like 30 former college team captains in the room to tell him to shut the **** up? A locker room oozing with Divas didn't stop the Jets from getting to the AFC Championship. A good locker room -- if you have one -- can and should be put to good use for disciplining talented ****heads. Otherwise it's kind of a waste.

The guy is a big upgrade from Hartline. A big one. The legal issue is significant and it's said he's asking for big time money. But if I'm the GM I'm giving the matter a lot of time and energy.

I wish we would add a vet Reciever to upgrade #2 spot i wouldnt be oppossed to braylon but would rather it be someone else like D Mason

Just say no to Braylon. Dude's one mistake away from sitting out a year of football.

im happy with our receiving corps, people are so worried about gettin more weapons when we already have them but still dont have a qb who can put the ball where it needs to be. The problem isnt our receivers, its the qb position thats holding us back.

Interesting theory.

But (outside of Jerry Rice) aren't pretty much ALL good WR's divas? Kinda seems like it comes with the territory.

Andre Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald are two others that come to mind. Santonio Holmes isn't a diva. He's just a pothead. Miles Austin came up the hard way and is the very opposite of a diva. Roddy White was lazy and something of a preoccupied jackass early in his career, which he readily admits. He's totally turned it around, though, and is now a model teammate. I don't know very much about Megatron's attitude one way or another. Nor Sidney Rice's.

It's become something of a cliche as most of the big time divas in the NFL are receivers (Ochocinco, Moss, T.O., etc). But plenty aren't.

I've said in multiple threads now that I would heartily support the move for the reasons I've outlined above. But what I forgot to mention is that I would definitely like (or have liked) to spend that money on another running back. Bush and Thomas aren't going to cut it.
