Jets called Braylon Edwards a "Diva" to scare away Patriots and Dolphins

Regardless of whether Edwards is a Diva or not, players with 'issues' always seem to 'straighten up' when they go play for Belichick.

Don't be fooled by Braylon's stats from last year, he was in a contract year. You pay him and he will return to MR Hands of Stone. Everyone forgets how this guy drops the easiest passes. Let Hands of Stone take his services elsewhere.

cant really say, but i think its best we stay away from braylon because i dont see marshall and braylon getting along at all. It will screw up any chemistry this offense has going for them this season.

31st offense in the league don't worry we have no chemistry!

Diva receiver is probably one of the most over used terms on this board!

Andre Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald are two others that come to mind. Santonio Holmes isn't a diva. He's just a pothead. Miles Austin came up the hard way and is the very opposite of a diva. Roddy White was lazy and something of a preoccupied jackass early in his career, which he readily admits. He's totally turned it around, though, and is now a model teammate. I don't know very much about Megatron's attitude one way or another. Nor Sidney Rice's.

It's become something of a cliche as most of the big time divas in the NFL are receivers (Ochocinco, Moss, T.O., etc). But plenty aren't.

I've said in multiple threads now that I would heartily support the move for the reasons I've outlined above. But what I forgot to mention is that I would definitely like (or have liked) to spend that money on another running back. Bush and Thomas aren't going to cut it.

Fitz was vocal and angry last year at the QB play and also pushed real hard for Kolb so he is a Diva! Johnson was vocal for money last year DIVA! Holmes cracked a girls dome with a rickshaw glass in a night club DIVA!

Yeah but he is a matchup nightmare and makes teams play your offense differently and creates a mismatch for other players on offense

What the hell is wrong with Dolphin fans? Honestly. Apparently we think that ever player is a headache. If that's what it to get to the Championship Game. Then, WHY THE **** NOT!? Seriously, quit being scared of every single good player out there.

That's all I hear from 90% of Fin Nation whenever there is talk of us signing someone. Grow a pair and take a risk!

So you're saying we should spend all that money on a decoy?? We already spent enough on decoys with Bush.

Marshall dropped like 13 pass last year (it's that damn #19). Braylon dropped 3, and Santonio dropped the easiest passes I've ever seen (see Phins @ Jets , endzone ball)

I am fully convinced the Jets exaggerated Braylon being a Diva in order for the Dolphins or Pats to back off from signing him. The Jets knew they wouldn't be able to keep him because of their cap situation but are probably praying to the football gods he doesn't sign with NE or Miami. Considering Miami hasn't aggressively pursued him, it seems to have worked. NE, not so much. Braylon is visiting the Pats tomorrow. Bellicheck knows talent always wins games and you don't win SB's with the Hartlines of the world. So good luck Ireland. Enjoy your Brian Hartline. Maybe one day he will learn to beat press coverage and become a playmaker. Not!!!

BTW, I will take everything I ever said about Ireland back if he ends up signing Braylon but I know it won't happen. Ireland likes his team squeeky clean and Marshall is enough of a headache, although in Braylon's case I think his issues were strongly exaggerated by Rexy. Smart calculated move by fat **** to scare away Ireland.

The problem w/ that theory is that the jets had plenty of cap room to sign him after the nnamdi deal fell through and they chose to go w/ Plax. I HATE losing Braylon, I expected it but after the Nnamdi deal fell through I was hopeful we could re-sign Cro and Edwards and we had neough money to but decided to move on from Braylon.

I will miss Braylon but I trust our GM and HC.

Your definition of a diva is... curious.

There's no conspiracy theory here. The Jets players were speaking their mind about Braylon Edwards since WELL before it became apparent that the Jets didn't want to bring him back at the price he was asking.

He is what he is, a productive, talented diva WR that players grumble about in the locker room. We already have one of those. The one we have has a $50 million contract with a lot of guaranteed money, so it's too late to turn back on him.
