i was at Tullys for the Jets Patriots game when i was talking to rude Jets fans that took over my table when i nicely offered one to sit there for a bit..... but anywhoo LOL

he started talking of Pennington and that how he is having a great year due to the "Wildcat Formation"

now before i continue my story of my replies... i am curious on your guys thoughts on this.... what would u think? what would u reply? lets discuss.... i will tell you my reply in due time!!!
 
I would have asked why he thought that since CP hasn't done anything in that formation, all his yards have come from base formations.

CP had a fat flea flicker to a wide open Pat Cobbs in Houston for a TD. My favorite wrinkle thus far.
 
I don't know if I'd credit the wildcat in particular with his performance, but the potential of our running game might have something to do with it. Teams know that either member of the R&R Tandem can light them up if left unchecked. So, they stack the box and essentially dare Chad to beat them (which he does most of the time). So, if he means to say that the general fear of our running game affords Chad more opportunities then I would have to begrudgingly agree.
 
Pennington is having a great year because he is first off all HEALTHY . . . and he also has a running game that is so dangerous that teams focus on that and it gives him the oportunity to make plays, and we give Chad time . . . so he is able to make them.

He was the perfect QB for this team trying to make strides in what is suppose to be a rebuilding year. Yea I drool over the potential of Henne and that arm and the poise he has displayed in the pocket in PRESEASON . . .but I feel comfortable saying that we would not be 5-4 if another QB (Henne/Beck/McCown) was in there.
 
I would have told him that as I was watching the Jets vs Pats game the other night I was thinking, playing the part of Chad pennington, Brett Favre. Everything was short and to intermediate with the exception of one throw. It was a very chad like performance.
 
Jet fans got frustrated by Chad's injuries and it boiled over last year so they blame him for our struggles even though he had no OL. Chad is a very good QB when healthy, don't let some bitter fans ruin that. Just like you guys used to bash Chad when he was a Jet, making fun of his arm and everything else now jet fans are doing the same but the reality is WHEN HEALTHY he's a very good QB.
 
Hey guys, the only thing that has changed is that the tables are turned.

If Chad had been still playing for the J-E-T-S and having the same type of season we would probably still bash him before the games because that is what we do. When on the football field you talk smack, when being a spectator on the side lines....we also talk smack.
 
I hope you properly thanked him for just giving us a Penny, while spending what looks like a first rounder for a 65 year old QB.
