I know Ted Ginn will get most of the credit today but I saw a few role players play great. These are my unsung heroes of the game. What are yours??

Nate Jones- Solid coverage and 3 big tackles. Played very soundly in the nickel as well as in Special Teams.

Randy Starks and Paul Solai- Pleayed great in stuffing the run and pressuring Sanchez. Great sack by Starks on the last drive.

Matt Roth- Decent return to the field. Played well in first half but didnt notice much in 2nd. Pretty stout against run and stayed in position most of the game.

Gibril Wilson- Didnt give up any bigs plays and put great pressure on the QB with the blitz. Big sack as well.

Yes, it was nice seeing Roth out there today. I guess that Sparano wanted to use him sparingly today, as this was his first significant contact in almost ten months. I imagine you'll se him more and more as the season progresses.

And Starks reminded me a bit of Jim Burt knifing through to get Joe Montana many moons ago.

Roth? For what? For showing up? What did he do? I think he turned on run in on contain...that's about it.

You want an unsung hero...except for the PI at the end...how about Torbor taking Crowder's place. I am not a big Torbor supporter, but I think he filled in well enough that I didn't even notice that Crowder was out.

Ricky Williams- If you had a gun to your head and were forced to pick out an offensive hero, Ricky made a few nice plays.

Dan Carpenter- Barely made that FG. Very important kick.

Vontae Davis- Dude is really coming along.

If you watched him he played contain well and had a nice run stop. Also stepped up the intensity with a little jawing at the jets players. For his first game in months I thought he played well in the limited playing he got.

I do agree with Torbor. Played well in Crowder's place.

Our PUNTER Brandon Fields also did GREAT today. He kicked several boomers way down the field like 50+ yards. Punters don't get much credit. He should get some for how he played today.

I wouldn't give anyone on the offense a high five today. No one did anything worth mentioning.

He set the edge in a dominant manner. It was incredible to see the pile of eight players all stuck in place because of Roth in the third quarter. He did get burned in pass coverage, but that is not his strength.
