Am I the only one who is sick and tired of this crap? I know that Braylon has issues and he doesn't have the most natural hands, but the guy is capable of making huge plays and being a number one receiver. The fact that we are in such dire need of just that, especially with a young qb, and we just let the Jets get this guy for 2 scrubs and a 3rd and 5th round pick is absolutely atrocious on our part. We should have looked into this and taken advantage of this opportunity, the FO should really feel like **** right now.
I know I'm gonna get flamed for this, because the majority of you guys are homers who love Ted Ginn and talked up Brandon London all off season, but common sense and logic proves my point for itself. I've been talking about this need for a WR for a long time, and it just sickens me to see an opportunity like this go by the wayside.

We already have one underachieving WR in Ginn, we need a 2nd in Braylon?

I'm with ya buddy, I'm tired of hearing were fine with the wr and cb's we have. we need to be bold and make a move to better this team

I'm certainly with you on getting a #1 WR. You won't hear me argue otherwise. What I did not want was Braylen Edwards. Is he better than our current WR's, probably. Is he a guy I want to build my WR core around, absolutely not. The guy drops balls left and right and has major character issues. We already have a guy that can't catch balls in Ginn, I would not want to bring in another. Lets go get Vincent Jackson in Free Agency if he doesn't resign or build in the draft.

It may be true that we need a receiver but Braylon Edwards isn't the one. The guy sucks plain and simple. Also he has attitude issues which seems to be par for the course with prima donna type receivers.

The Jets got hosed in this deal.

What he said- but you can replace "Vincent Jackson" with "Dwayne Bowe" or "2010 draft choice"

And by the way a 3rd and a 5th aren't worthless picks - i am pretty sure Donald Thoms our starting RT guard was maybe a 5th or 6th. So there is value in those picks.

Really? You want another #1 who drops passes? The guy has something going on beyond butter fingers. I don't know how many "easy" passes I've seen the guy drop. Let him play in NY. When we play against him, he'll drop passes as well. If you ask me, this trade helps us out, because Chansi Stuckey was having a decent year. Better than Edwards anyways.

Even if Braylon doesn't play as well as he can, the Jets definitely didn't get hosed because they barely gave up anything.

Are you kidding me? Stuckey plus a 3rd and 5th IS VALUE!!! Donald Thomas for instance. Come one now, Kendall Langford? There you go, two starters for us that went in those rounds, maybe even a little later.

They did get hosed....sorry to tell you.

The way I see it, this could be a make or break deal. Braylon Edwards could be the next Randy Moss in the snese where he's coming off a cheap team and going to a team where he may have better talent.

But I do question the deal. This was a robbery on the Jets part. I'm not so sure that even the madden game wouldn't have rejected that deal.

The biggest mistake the Browns made in hiring Mangini was that he is now becoming nutoriously known for helping the jets out. First trading the draft pick, now trading Edwards.....and Mangini is getting nothing in return.

I was curious if the Browns gave the Dolphins a call prior to the trade, one would think Mangini would rather stick it to the Jets and the Pats rather than to the Pats and help the Jets.

I guess we will never know. Keep in mind Edwards is a free agent at the end of the year so this deal might not be as cool as it looks. In addition Edwards has been a bit of a disappointment at times and might no longer be considered a #1 WR in many peoples eyes.

I know what your saying though. Look at all the big signings in NY and NE and you wonder whats up with the Fins?

Braylon Edwards will also be a free agent after this season if no collective bargaining agreement is reached. The teams GM already stated he won't be given a new contract. I don't understand why they Jets would trade their best special teams player and two draft picks for someone they may be renting for a partial season. Take into account that it will take him at least 3-4 weeks to get up to speed with the offense and you really are only getting about 8 games out of him. Seems like a very stupid decision to trade all of that for a player who is a pre-madonna that has a very bad case of the dropsies.

Lol, the Jets got hosed. If the Dolphins made this exact trade you guys would be making it out to be the steal of the century. The fact is that this is a great trade for the Jets and a clear upgrade to our WR corps and entire offense.

meh

I thought we gave up too much for a guy that has a hard time catching the ball. last i checked that's a pretty important trait for a WR.
