Two records worth pondering as the New York Jets prepare to face the Miami Dolphins Sunday at MetLife Stadium:

1. For some reason, the Jets have struggled against the Dolphins under Rex Ryan -- a 3-5 record. You can explain a losing record against a team like the New England Patriots, but the Dolphins? They haven't registered a winning season since 2008. Nevertheless, they've caused serious problems for the Jets, winning with different coaches (Joe Philbin and Tony Sparano) and different quarterbacks (Chad Henne, Matt Moore and Ryan Tannehill).

2. Sunday is Dec. 1. The final month on the calendar hasn't been friendly to the Jets. Under Ryan, they're 10-10 after Dec. 1, including 6-9 over the past three seasons. They ended the past two seasons on three-game losing streaks. For whatever reason, they haven't mastered the art of finishing. In 2011 and 2012, the late skids were due largely to inept offense. Considering the way they've played the past two weeks, this could have the makings of another frosty December.

Maybe because the offenses under Ryan have sucked. The arrogance of the Northeast reporters is irritating.

Our running backs have gained a grand total of 26 yards in 3 games against other top run defenses and we lost all those games, the Jets are number one vs the run so I'm not too optimistic. The only good news is they have the second worst offense in the league although when Geno is on he can look pretty good. If we win it'll be a nail biter but the Jets are capable of blowing us out.

Let's hope that we don't get a big first half lead again, we know how that ends up..

In the end, Miami D terrorizes Geno and he passes for 89 yds no TDs and 3 interceptions , Tannehill to Wallace for 2 tds.

Dolphins 24 Jets 10... Ryan's head explodes at post game interview

I would like nothing better than beating the Jets in NY.

Miller had success vs. the Jets last year.

no way our run game gets anything. Better have a game plan with some clever things or else it could be a ugly game. Jets are atrocious but they will be up for this division rival game at home cause the loser is surely out of contention for the w card.

Our coaching is so bad I would not be that surprised if Lamar Miller gets 100 yards......Then we will be like " Why the **** did the coaches not make these changes in play calling earlier " Can they really be that bad of coaches? The answer is yes my friends.

Going to this so the Dolphins better win.

We had a better o-line last year and they had a worse d-line. I don't think we beat the Jets unless our defense puts us in position to get some easy touchdowns ...which is possible is GSmith has a crappy day.

My fear is that our D makes Geno look like Johnny U, always happens it seems. Here's the script, we will be ferocious and get near Geno all day but he slips the tackle and runs or throws for a third and a mile extending drives. If we cant make him look bad and score passing TDs against that S#@##y pass D then we don't belong.

The Jets are a below average team, with an awful offense but a great young defense. Tannehill is going to need to be on his game. Miami's defense is going to have to stop the run early. If we can get off to an early lead, I believe we might actually be able to hold it for once. This year the Jets tend to get blown out every time they lose, but seem to win the close games. That's why it's crucial we make big plays early.
