Ravens | Colletto Cut Loose - from www.KFFL.com
Mon, 10 Jan 2005 14:17:11 -0800

Baltimore Ravens head coach Brian Billick announced the team would not retain offensive line coach Jim Colletto for next season.

What do you guys think if we can pick this guy up to be our OL coach? Will he make our OL do alot better?

I hope that he will come here cause it is always nice getting someone that you really need to coach at that position and is a good one at that.

Well, all I want is a great OL coach to help these young guys. However, I was under the impression that the Raves line sucks. Could just be me though.

Are you kidding me? You think Jamal Lewis is actually an elite RB? You think Chester Taylor is a good RB? That OL is one good run OL, passing is ok, but still Boller doesn't get sacked much.

Good point. I was wrong. Like I said, I didn't really know.

Jamal Lewis didn't get 2,000 yards on his own last year.

The prblem with passing isn't as much Boller as it is last year they didn't use Robinson until late in the season, and now that he's gone the only guy they have that is useful is Todd Heap and he was hurt.

and if he could make McIntosh and/or Smith 1/4 of what Ogden is I consider him a great coach.

I would be absolutely ecstatic if this guy comes to Miami. He's a great OL coach as demonstrated by the Ravens run production and keeping sacks low. He knows how to coach guys up that weren't seen as elite prospects as well as running a good blocking scheme. And his ties with Saban make this even more possible....I'm getting excited already....he's exactly what the fins need.

Well, just about anyone is a step up from Wise. Baltimore's line has always had a very strong rep. I guess the question is: Was it the talent or the coach?
