Jim Leonhard anyone? | FinHeaven - Miami Dolphins Forums

Jim Leonhard anyone?

He always hurt us as a Jet. Definitely worth considering. If healthy, the guy is a beast. Still hoping we can still get Jake Scott though. I feel that is more of a need right now, but I would not complain if we grabbed Leonard.

jake scott sounds good also...get em both...something tells me though that leonhards not already signed somewhere due to medical concerns...been seriously hurt a lot lately

often injured and overrated IMO. I'd rather see what we have with our two safties and fix it nextyear if need be.

i thought jake scott signed somewhere? i would be all for leonard even on the PUP or IR. better player than tyrelle johnson and tyron culver

overrated like bob sanders in the sense he can't stay on the field. Bob Sanders when healthy was a way better player talent wise too. I just don't see him being a long term answer for anyone, not just the dolphins and would rather run with a question mark that can be answered next season if it doesn't pan out this year.

if he's medically cleared i say yes...absolutely

I agree. The position is a total unknown right now. He's a known quantity and a veteran leader, which we lack.

Also, the guy they signed Tyrell Johnson has thus far been reported to be a huge disappointment. So swap him out. Why not?

i would agree he can't stay on the field...of late...and thats a big deal...that said if health wasn't an issue he wouldn't have been let go by the jets...you probably get burned if you sign him but until he does go out you got yourself a pretty solid safety...good range...decent instincts...

given our situation something i'd look into especially if i can get him for a vet minimum type deal...

Jake Scott's the one I'm wary of because the Dolphins have brought him in for a look twice and he walked out without contract both times. He's hurt, and they're checking up on him to see if he's improving...and by all indications he's not.

The guy was pretty overrated to begin with...very light in the pants as far as OLs go. I would rather explore some combination of Artis Hicks, Lydon Murtha and Jonathan Martin on that right side.

i'm not sure what to think of artis hicks...i guess we'll see what camp brings

I think if we were a team that was making the playoffs with only one spot to fill then you make moves like this. in our situation though I don't want sign anyone that isn't an answer for multiple years. if the guy is gonna be injured he isnt your answer. I thnk bell is addition by subtraction to a degree. Our secondary was poor last year but it wasn't a game destroyer like our right side of the line was.

Same here. Last I saw of him at guard was Washington two years ago, where he was better than commonly given credit for being. Nothing more than a stopgap starter, though.

He would be another low risk, high reward type signing. When healthy he is a really good safety but he is often injured.... Bringing him in to look at is not going to hurt anything...
