Jim Leonhard anyone?

Jim Leonhard was known to be one of Rex Ryan's favorite on-field leaders (Revis and Bart Scott are the others). He had major surgery on his leg in mid-December. It probably hurt Rex to let him go, and he's done it early to maximize Leonhard's chance of making another team. There is no harm in taking a look at him (particularly his physical health) and he offers good experience and leadership, but he's probably done.

Jake Scott's the one I'm wary of because the Dolphins have brought him in for a look twice and he walked out without contract both times. He's hurt, and they're checking up on him to see if he's improving...and by all indications he's not.

The guy was pretty overrated to begin with...very light in the pants as far as OLs go. I would rather explore some combination of Artis Hicks, Lydon Murtha and Jonathan Martin on that right side.

My hunch is that they like Jake Scott to bring him in twice, and he probably likes Miami, but more likely he is wanting too much in compensation. They may have wanted to fully check out the 3rd round wunderkind John Jerry, who is very big but probably doesn't fit Philbin's fast paced offense philosophy.

Being from Wisconsin, I would love to see us sign the ex-Badger. Jimmy is not very big but he's a tough son of a gun and a guy who will work his tail off.

injuries are a problem but he has talent and is better than the safties we have now

Oft injured but well worth it when he is healthy. The Jets defense was not the same without Leonhard.

No way he stays healthy. It's a shame, because we could certainly use him. As already stated. Over and over.

I agree can never have enoiugh Badgers on the team.

i like our potential with what we got. granted they are unproven. i think they can step up if given the oppurtunity.

Id rather let Jones take over SS, and sign Jake Scott which is a huge need. I heard Hicks is playing great at RG, but we can never have too many Olinemen.

I would bring him in by week 3 to give us an advantage against Rex's defense. Rex always stated that Jim knew his defense forward and backwards
