Jim Nagy on Miami's Draft

Its always good to see how other people or professionals see these NFL prospects. What goes into their evaluations. Kind of cool. Nagy was once a pro scout, who now heads up the Senior Bowl.

Guess he didn’t get the information that UCLA forced Philips to leave or retire.
He isn’t the only person who doesn’t seem to know the reason Phillips left UCLA. Several posters have accused Phillips of being a quitter and stated he retired from football while at UCLA. The fact it was UCLA that forced him to leave the team because of the number of concussions he had suffered obviously didn’t fit into these posters agenda regarding Phillips.

That one in particular caught my attention. He thought Jones was a draftable prospect in the 3rd or 4th round.
Initially, he could see the field if Miami goes to six linemen in short yardage. That's assuming he makes the team, which obviously is not guaranteed.

Miami often used an extra lineman in goal line situations last year. Hunt, Pankey and others were the linemen I saw on the field in those situations.
