The notes are for the most part as I wrote them, as the session progressed:

TE David Martin- looks the part. Big, tall, fast, smooth athlete. Nice TD catch in the corner of the end zone, good, soft hands. I like this guy already.

WR Chambers- has a spring in his step, looks excited. He broke a punt return open to the outside, the crowd loved it. Why he was returning kicks I don't know. He looks good dragging over the middle in his slot role.

OL Esera- good size, tattoos all over his calves. Don't mess with him and the Juggernaut.

RB Lorenzo Booker- really good quicks, can do some damage. Totally indecisive on a punt return, went nowwhere, couldn't make up his mind. Needs work there for sure.

AZ Hakim- quick on punt returns.

WR David Sutton- Looks the part. Tall, angular, smooth, fast. Good hands, too. Looked confident catching a pass over the middle. Definitely has potential.

WR Ted Ginn- if you want to know why we drafted this guy, come to training camp. Man among boys when it comes to speed and quicks. Biggest crowd reaction of the day came from one of his punt returns, quick move outside, smoked the guy covering him, and then he was gone. So fast, so quick, pretty good moves off of the line, too. It's like watching a Ferrari warm up. Just wait until it kicks it into gear, he'll put the fear of God into some DB's.

Matt Roth- as always, ready for business. Looks big, in great shape.

Cleo Lemon- barks out cadence, really nice TD run to the left corner of the endzone. Quick, fast, good arm on throws, too. Green probably gets the job, but don't discount this guy.

Mkistro Bruce- big, good looking athlete. Looks the part for a DE. He moves well, keep an eye on him.

Robert McCune- huge arms, solid build, quick, active. Looks good.

Aaron Halterman- nice TD catch in the corner of the end zone.

Trent Green- I think that we're in good hands. Lively arm, a leader, the king of guy that you want running the offense. What a pleasure seeing QB's who can throw with accuracy and touch after suffering through the Fiedler/Frerrotte years.

Paul Solai- HUGE, quick, this guy can move. Will be a major disruptive force, I think.

Lorenzo Booker- great cut back runs, looking good.

OT Julius Wilson- HUGE dude.

OG Rex Hadnot- his left leg bends inward at the knee, weird looking.

Ginn- dropped a bomb down the right sideline- crowd lets him hear it.

CB Derrick Johnson- FA signee, has wheels, proved it covering Ginn down the sideline. Looks like he can play

Juggernaut- good runs up the middle, powerful, pretty good hands, kind of squatty running style, no burner.

Channing Crowder- nice pick off of Hamdan, good hands.

P Fields- probably biggest leg since Roby. Looking good , Brandon. I saw one booming, spiral punt in particular. Great hang time .

Chambers- looks good dragging across the middle again. Looks like he's home again.

WR Kelly Campbell- fast, quick, watch out for this guy. The only guy in Ginn's zip code speed wise.

Will Allen- Roberto Duran hands, but a stud in coverage. Schooled Chambers on an end zone play.

TE Justin Peele- nice TD catch from Trent Green.

WR Derek Hagan- maybe we should expect a breakout year from him. Showed everything- really good hands, speed, quicks. The real deal.

Jason Allen- he can cover, but he has to MAKE PLAYS on the ball. Too many guys like Hagan end up with the catch when he could either deny or intercept. He's an athlete, though, stud like speed and quicks. He's hanging with the WR's on routes, which is great to see.

Travis Daniels- never really stood out in anything. Not the athlete that Will Allen and Jason Allen are.

DB Geoffrey Pope- nice breakup of pass from Beck to Hagan.

QB Beck- nice arm, nice touch, didn't really stand out. I'm way high on this guy though, watch out.

WR Hagan- went down hard in the endzone- great TD catch over Jason Allen. Great catch, but Jason- make the play. Stayed down- seems ok though. I asked him afterward, what hurts, butt or hip. He laughed and said "Both!"

WR Kelly Campbell- beautiful TD catch, tip toe in back of the endzone. Great touch on throw from Beck. This play showed what Beck can do, look out. Campbell, too. Lots of speed and talent.

WR David Sutton- quick, good hands. Wiry- 225 lbs. doesn't go very far on a 6-6 frame.

NT Solai- boy, is this dude a load. So quick, so disruptive. Can't wait to
see him in full pads. How can 350 lbs. look so svelt and move so well. Watch for the ponytail, people, and see the fur fly.

OG Mormino- Spoke with him briefly, nice guy, big arms. Baby faced assasin. If football doesn't work out, and it will, this dude could be a model. But he's more likely to punch you in the face on the field. This dude is a keeper.

RB Booker- another nice run up the middle, so quick, nice moves.

I also got autographs- my main goal was Chris Chambers for Aqua 4 Ever, just missed him! I'll get him at training camp in July for you. Since Mkistro Bruce is from Washington, his autograph is for you, or maybe Derek Hagan or Cleo Lemon if you want.

Jay Feeley- from Tampa, so i got him to personalize it and address it to CK Parrothead.

I also got Juggernaut, Drew Mormino, Brandon Fields, Kyle Eckel, David Sutton, Derek Hagan. Cleo Lemon, Ryan Flynn. Actually Jeff Cross, too. A blast form the past. They're for you guys, I don't collect. First call to FinFaninCali- uber gentleman, uber positive force on this site. Second to Boomer- for all you do, this autograph is for you. I tried to get Ginn for you, couldn't do it. I'll try again in July. The rest- the floor is open. If you want them let me know, and I'll get more in July. Peace out.

Great report.. I tell ya, you guys have all been great for those of us who can't make it.

And Chambers? That's because he's going to be the #2 WR in 2008 and #1 WR's (Ted Ginn) don't return kicks/punts. One can hope, right? lol

Nice report, I really think we have a solid team here. Great youth movement going on now. If our 2-3 last drafts can pan out we will have a nasty core on this team for years to come.
Doubt we hit the playoffs, but an 8-8 is possible, and we certainly can be a team people hate to play.

Yea it was great today. Got a ton of autos. Cleo, Beck, Chambers, Hagan, Juggernaut, Feely, the new punter, Sutton, and a few others.

Excellent report Jim1. Thanks and very appreciative of the work involved in posting this.

There are two possible reasons to have Chambers practicing punt returns. 1) to improve his concentration on the ball and 2) for emergency purposes.

Sutton being 6'5" 225 should be able to get it done. Plaxico Burress has done pretty well at that size for 7 years.

You wouldn't expect a 6' 270 pound FB to be a burner, or would you? :D

Yeah, you're right! I spoke with him briefly, wished the Hawaii 5-0 good luck. He smiled and said thx, very gentlemanly. But man, I wouldn't want to get on his bad side or have to tackle him- dude's a load. What I should have said is short legs, no strider. But at fullback those powerful, stocky legs will be an advantage. The guy is a powerhouse. Or, more accurately, a JUGGERNAUT. Can't wait to see him lay some people out.

I'm with you on this one. I'm wondering who will be the first Dolphins LB to meet the Juggernaut up close and personal during training camp? Joey Porter? Channing Crowder?
