Jimmy Johnson to be inducted to the HoF.

He built a dynasty. How many dynasties have their been in the modern day NFL?

2 Superbowls rings = HOF IMO.

Notable players from the Cowboys give him credit even for the SB win in 95-96 under Barry.

Not to mention he took over a Dallas team that was low on talent/depth, outside of a few pieces(and he traded the best one) and rebuilt a 1-15 team to back to back SB wins in 4 years.

Remember that overall coaching record is skewed by that 1-15 record his first year when he went total re-build.
I realize that record counts, but the way he rebuilt that Dallas team in such a short time was incredible. Some luck too, with Aikman there for the picking, but still...
People also forget not only did he revolutionize the drafting, but also the whole speed on defense thing. Defenses did not have those smaller speed guys till Jimmy came around.
Also, he did TRY to quit- he gave us another year when he didn't want to. His mother died in 1998 and it really affected him, made him want to live and not work all the time. I really liked him and still do; I appreciate his shortcomings as our coach, and will acknowledge that his best wasn't good enough for Miami. He also got Marino when Marino's legs no longer worked and couldn't make it work with him. Poor timing with that as well.
Probably his dumbest decision was to practice the team in 1999 in full pads, hard contact after the Seattle win which put the team on dead legs to go to Jacksonville. That game was a wreck, but I also think the team quit that day after Marino's first INT.
He is also not the guy his persona became- he is way more human and funny than the monster he was portrayed as.

I agree and that team he built was a powerhouse, playoffs 6 straight years, only happened three times in Cowboys history.

He also built a Dolphins team that went to the playoffs 5 straight years and that has also only happened three times in Dolphins history.

Jimmy is well deserving of this honor. I'm proud he was once a Dolphin. His teams are the last time this team was enjoyable.

That's BS...His drafting and the players he brought to the fins set us as a quality team for years. His only mistake was his support for porn stach...
I'm actually talking about his pushing of Dave for head coachhead coach. He got embarrassed by Jacksonville and played gutless Wonder after that.

If this jackass were worthy of being a HOF the dolphins teams he coached would have been good.

plus he quit on us to go fishing! F Jimmyjohnson! He was an average coach w tons of talent!!!

nfl went soft!!!

Screw Jimmy Johnson anybody can talk about his success withthe cowboys fine and dandy. But it's time with the dolphins he's a quitter, blamed everyone else but himself and then set us up for the mediocrity that we've had since then.
Thank you!!!

His character issues were on and defined him.

He is the opposite of a hall of famer! A quieter - a leave in the middle of the night guy.

And no he did not invent anything related to the draft / he stumbled into dumb luck that the Vikings overpaid for Herschel Walker.

Whatever - the guy was good at motivating a bunch of super talented hungry players to beat a shitty Buffalo Bills team and a weak Steelers team in a couple of Superbowls.
For the Super Bowl wins he gets credit but HoF????? Really?????

It's not like he pulled an Urban Meyer or Saban on us. Sometimes you just know when it's time to throw in the towel. Not sure why anyone would hold it against someone for retiring.

Not a fan of JJ.
I do give him credit for the Defense he put together in Miami, but thats it.

Pork face Satan..The beginning of the END..for the Miami Dolphins..Thanks JIMMIE!!!!!
