New England didn't act as if they were that high on Rosen. They inquired about him before the draft and NE had 6 picks in the top 101 so could have easily outbid Miami if they really wanted him. Especially considering Rosen's contract, if NE was sold on Rosen he would be wearing a Patriots uniform this year.Just a guess, but I suspect Flores and company were in the room last year when NE was discussing QBs.
Grier / Flores also didn't appear to be all in on Rosen. Trading back to pick 62 before trading for Rosen could have easily backfired if Grier / Flores #1 goal was to obtain Rosen as a team like NE could have slid right in with a better offer. If Grier / Flores were completely sold on Rosen I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have just given pick 48 to ensure it happened.
