Let's say that in the first round of the draft, both Jimmy Williams and Ngata are both still available, which one would you take. Would you finish off the Dline: Vickerson, Ngata, Wright. Or would you add depth to the secondary: Poole, Williams, Daniels, Madison(restructure contract or bye bye), Shulters, Jones, Tillman, Mitchelle.

I think Traylor's done a great job for us, but he is getting old. Ngata would be a great NT. Vickerson, Ngata, and Wright could be our D line for years.

Williams and Poole could make a great tandem. It would be nice to have two solid corners again. Daniels could play safety or corner, and Shulters was a good find this year. We could be solid again.

????????????????????????????????

Ngata by a mile. Jimmy Williams will most likely be a Safety in the next level. We need a safety, but probably not with our first pick. NT is much harder position to find.

We do need a NT... depending on who else is on the board at the time.

Didn't Ngata's report say he takes plays off and is lazy at times?

You read my mind.

I still say you take the best available player regardless of position when you select.

I know nothing about Ngata other than what I've read on this site. But as far as Jimmy Williams -- spot on. So, I'd have to go with Ngata too.

That logic only applies if someone is a taker...

If for some reason Reggie Bush falls to us, we should not take him unless we plan to trade. Same if if the Niners pick and Leinart is on the bored. It would be dumb to draft him unless they're looking to wheel and deal.

If he is a lazy player and not very competitive, then I wouldn't want him.

This team should be only looking for high motor players, leaders, with its early picks. Sure, a 5th rounder on a guy with potential that needs to be motivated is a risk worth taking. However, I would want my first round picks to have great leadership ability and high motors to go along with their talents.

Remeber when we passed up a high motor MLB out of Miami for a DT labelled lazy, in the 1996 draft? Sure we got some nice years out of Daryl Gardener but Ray Lewis is still in the league and a HOF player. Having selected Zach makes up for it though. But Zach and Lewis wouldve been sick together.

I agree with Ngata also. We could get a solid corner in the later rounds like a Charles Gordon from Kansas or someone like that. Ngata is a monster and is very quick. 340lbs and runs like a 4.75 or something like that.

Ngata - not even close. First time I've heard about "lazy"?

We would not have been able to afford both of them for long, but that would have been nice.

To tell you the truth, I don't know for fact if that's what was reported on Ngata, I think I remember reading it somewhere. I get your point though.

DG had huge upside, and although he played well, he was a cancer in that locker room.

but to defend JJ, a lot of people passed on Ray Ray, but boy did he get lucky on taking a gamble on Zack. and yes, it would have been sick! But I'm sure Wanny would have traded one of them for a washed up 3rd stinger Qb somewhere along the way.
