Demarest said that Horford grabbed the microphone and asked the crowd "we've won two SEC [tournament] titles, an NCAA championship and we're not sure how much more we can accomplish." But Demarest then said Noah followed up with, "What do you people want us to do?" The crowd apparently chanted back, "two more years." And then Noah said, "we're coming back."

Coach Billy Donovan confirmed the news, telling The Associated Press that he met with the three players Friday afternoon and they told him they wanted to try to repeat.

That guy is one ugly man but he sure can play Defense.

i think he'll go pro. May said that last year so did other tar heels.

Exactly. You can't just get in front of a pumped crowd like that and then just let them down by announcing you're going pro.

He should go pro. His stock is pretty damn high right now. Why risk lowering it? Get the money now before you hurt yourself.

His stock will never be higher then it is now unless he wins another national title...which is highly unlikely with NC and Ohio State loading up next year with talent.

He'd be an absolute moron to not enter the draft...right now hes a top 7 lock based on his tounament permormances.

These guys stocks are soaring right now

Tyrus Thomas SF/PF LSU [Top 3 Lock...just like Marvin Williams of last year]
Joakim Noah SF/PF Florida [Top 7 Lock]
Marcus Williams PG UCONN [Best PG bar none...should come back where he could be the first pg chosen in next years draft but because of his incident earliar this year it killed his stock. His tournament performance however has put him right back in the mix and he should be a lottery pick]

permormances?

I disagree, he needs to stay in school and bulk up. Yes, his stock is high right now but if he does go he will struggle IMO.

Why is everyone so focused on Noah needing to bulk up? Part of what makes him special is his quickness and ability to run the floor like a guard. A little more muscle wouldn't hurt, but he should not sacrifice that great quickness that he has.

Incidentally, Noah's a fool for not coming out. He'd be a mortal lock for the top 5, and probably top 3. If he dominates the SEC in 2007 he'll be...a top 5 pick. Again. His stock will not get any higher than what it is today. What more can he gain in college? More to the point, what more can he learn in college hoops? His basketball IQ is already outstanding. He's not going to learn anything new at this level.

On the flip side, what is there to lose? Everything. What if he reverts to the guy scouts thought he was prior to this season? What if he blows out an ACL? Neither of those things are likely, but the downside is tremendous for little, if any, gain. Terrible move. Just terrible.

Noah should stay in school....unlike a lot of kids, Noah's daddy is a millionaire so it is not like Noah needs to go pro to support his family. Get an education in case the NBA doesn't work out.

I'm with you man. Not only do I think he should, but there's no doubt in my mind he will stay. I don't know Joakim personally but I've had an interest in him since last year because of his dad. There's no way he enters that draft, he'll want to get an education because he'll want to learn. I might sound naive but everything I've read about him says he's not in it for the money, he's already got plenty. Matter of fact I wouldn't be surprised to see Joakim pull a Robert Smith and retire early because he wants to travel the world or see other things. He's not your typical sophomore I can tell you that.

If the NBA doesn't work out, you know where he can go? Back to school! And he'll have about $3 million to live off of while there, not to mention his dad's fortune. Noah's a bright guy; I'm sure he knows how to take care of his money, or have someone he trusts take care of it for him. It's not like we're talking about one of these insta-rich guys who come from ultra-poor neighborhoods, can barely form complete sentences and blow their entire first year contract on pimped out Hummers and Escaldes. Those guys need a college education to fall back on, because there's a great chance they'll blow their NBA fortune as fast as they earn it. Noah is no such risk.

I repeat, there is NO reason whatsoever for Noah to return to school.

Maybe it's what he wants to do. It's his decision, not yours. Maybe he wants to finish his degree without having to do it in the offseason...who knows.
