"Let me think.....I saved 3 Time Outs from the first half so that gives me 6 for the second half.....if I don't use any in the second half that'll give me 9 for the first half of the Chiefs game...if I don't use any in the....." (and on and on and on)

How about- 3rd and inches, let's do shotgun formation and run it from 4 yds deep. Worked so well last year.

The guy is so clueless it's unbelievable. Really all of his reputation comes from being an OC that didn't call plays at the Packers with an Elite QB. The bloke has been out of his depth at HC since the day he arrived.

Seriously though...When was the last time the Dolphins drove the field for a score (Fg or TD) in under 2 minutes? When was the last time they even were able to run a 2 min offense? :err:

I have to believe it was when Marino was under center ...yes that long ago. I noticed it when Tony M was the Coach and there were several times we needed it but they could not execute it.

Its sad...I have to believe some HS teams have it in the basic package but a Pro team cannot pull it off...S A D

Sherman's agent should have you on speed dial.

Lazor calls the offensive plays not Philbin.

Should have learned from last year, "hey Lazor, 3rd or 4th and inches, QB sneak or under center run"...period. Coach has say and should inject an opinion as what's right and what's not working.

Philbin on clock: Last thing I wanted to do was go into halftime down 16-0. I told Bill I wanted to run every single play.

Actually they have been pretty good in the past (last season) with the 2 minute offense....

Uh, I guess you didn't watch New England, week 15 last season?

I really hope this quote is a joke. Someone is pulling our leg. When you think about it, it makes absolutely no sense. There is no reason to assume that going down 16-0 on that possession is any more likely than any other possession during the course of the game. There were 3 timeouts plus the 2-minute warning available. They could have run a very measured, calm drive mixing run and pass, just like any other possession. There was no need to come out rushed or call overly aggressive (vs. typical play-calling) plays.

There is no difference in going down 16-0 right before halftime, than if the Dolphins made a mistake and went down 16-0 on their opening possession of the second half. This is really infuriating to read.

In truth, this possession with just over 2 minutes left in the first half could have been viewed with more potential than a typical possession. When do you start a typical mid-game possession knowing that you will have the ability to stop the clock 4 times? Typically, you would never waste 3 timeouts on one possession. In this case, Philbin could have stopped the clock 4 times and taken as much time as he wanted to consider play-calling.

Seriously....this says all that needs to be said about Philbin. He needs to be fired.

Did they pull it off? Maybe so...but I remember us beating them up pretty good that game so it could not have been a drive under pressure or like the game Sunday where a move into FG range would have been huge. I guess it just the difference in teams...For instance...last night before half the Chiefs intentionally ran clock before half to prevent Denver from getting the ball with more than 45 seconds. We get it with a buck 45 and lay down...

Three straight hand offs with time outs in the bank

Speaks volumes of the confidence Philbin has in Tannehill (none).

I no longer think Tannehill is the answer, but this was a poor move by Philbin. Shake Tannehills confidence and it can only get worse.

dude, this thread is unnecessary. You pretty much expressed this in YOUR last thread.
