This guy sounds pretty interesting. He's an offensive tackle from Central Michigan.

6ft. 5in.
300 lbs
4.75 40 yd. dash

Could make a nice mid round pick "project". He's raw, but if Houck stays with the Fins to teach him, we may have a legit LT. A LT with feet that fast and the right OL coach, he should be able to shut down any speed rusher he faces.

Has anyone seen him play? Here's a link to his profile.

He'll probably be a second round pick, maybe a late 1st.

I think he'll need a big showing this offseason to go late first, but certainly 2nd round would not be a stretch.

what happened to all the offensive line projects we already have, like Joe Toledo and Anthony Alabi? Are they busts?

On the same topic, what about the DT projects we drafted like Rod Wright, Manny, Vickerson and Evans?

Alabi, I assume we will know about this year. I think it's his last year to make an impact before hope is lost. And I don't see him claiming the starting job. Toledo is a G, and was on IR all last year. Give him a little time.

Wright was on IR all last year. Evans couldn't break the lineup until injuries late, Vickerson I don't expect much from at this point. And until Manny returns to the team officially, I am not holding my breath.

I am tired of taking projects. This team needs quality starters.

Staley was a TE who built himself up and into OT.

His bio says hes a workout warrior, I'm guessing his stock will skyrocket after the combine.

If he falls to us in the 2nd we should get him. He'll probably need a year to work on strength and weight but his feet give him the potential to be a solid anchor of our left side. He's the reason I would pass on using our first rounder on a left tackle

FWIW: The 'Canes made a living of signing a HS TE and then building him up into legit LT. Eric Winston comes to mind.

Yeah as of right now we'd have to take him in the 2nd too get him. Too rich for my blood until I know more about him, he's very raw. I will say this though, in the entire draft, I only think there are three players that could develop into quality starting LT's in the NFL: Joe Thomas, Jared Gaithers and Joe Staley.

Staley is a solid 2nd round pick. While he has quick feet and speed, his upper body strength needs a lot of work. He got bull-rushed a few times this season allowing a sack on each occasion. He kinda reminds me of an unpolished D'Brick
