I like that idea a lot especially if we can trade down from 21. There arent any QB needy teams after us in the first round. The only thing we would have to worry about is a QB needy team at the top of the second round trading up past us but I don't think they would necessarily be worried about us taking Penix just because we traded down.

Lets say we can pick up a 3rd by trading down with the Packers at 25. Draft Penix there.

Then trade Tua. If he is as good as many claim he is then we should be able to get a future first round pick for him.

Tua's $23M cap hit in 2024 would then be off the books and we would have Penix on the cheap for the next 5 years if you include his 5th year option.

This would allow us to keep our window open and get our salary cap mess under control without having to hand out a $200M plus contract to Tua.

I also think we would be getting an upgrade at QB with Penix.
